This seems way off. Our World in Data estimates that the US has 3708 warheads in total. That’s enough to hit every major city in the world, but not enough to ‘completely envelop the earth with nuclear fire 37 times over’. Of course, the radiation will reach much further.
Pretty sure US Navy would not disclose top secret projects that also happen to involve production of highly advanced nuclear payload delivery systems along with advanced nuclear ignition systems.
So those numbers are likely purposely incorrectly reported to protect secrecy
Why would you keep your doomsday weapon a secret. The whole point of having a doomsday weapon is to let people know you have a doomsday weapon. I think the nuke numbers are accurate.
