German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser has warned of dangers to democracy in Germany amid rising domestic and external threats.

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said on Tuesday that while Germany’s democracy was strong, it was coming under considerable pressure.

Among the threats she cited were far-right elements in German society and increasing espionage activities on the part of Russia and China.

Her comments came as Germany’s domestic intelligence agency BfV presented its report for 2023.

far-right elements in German society and increasing espionage activities on the part of Russia and China.

We’ve seen this recipe before, haven’t we?

It’s noteworthy that local right-wing extremism garners Russian and Chinese support.

You mean the commenters that keep blaming Russia and China for a countries population getting shafted by center-right politicians?

It must be the fault of Russia and China that the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. I wonder why Russia and China don’t target countries with good social security nets with those nefarious right winger campaigns.

What the fuck are you on about. There is evidence that the right-wing party AfD in Germany has financial support from China and other various support from Russia, as well as ties to at least Russia.

This is not a “yeah right”, their political proximity is very much on full display, even just listening to their speeches.

Blaming China and Russia failing for politicians such as Scholz that send israel Genocide weapons instead of helping their population in a housing crisis does indicate where we are at. Maybe start blaming israel instead of China and Russia.

Just like in America as long as people keep voting for the center right guy you will be sure that a country slowly slides into Fascism. And you can blame Russia and China and North Korea but it’s the countries own fault.

You can equally find both things wrong. This is not a “either Scholz is wrong or the AfD is corrupt”. There’s more parties than SPD and AfD. In fact, that’s what the system is built on.

The AfD is just an inevitable consequence of what happens when the general population keeps getting shafted to make the rich richer. Blaming China or Russia for the rise of Fascism is massive cope. This is 100% a consequence of Germany’s own policies.

Germany did a Fascism thing 80 years ago. Did we blame China and Russia for that one too?

And the biggest irony is that these extreme right wing parties always have clear links with israel. Yet you ignore the obvious link and blame China and Russia.

The AfD is full of antisemites. Nonetheless, it fully supports Israel.
