Thank God the content isn’t available in my country. Saved me the brain damage this article would have subjected me to.
Here’s a fun article from 2017 about them:
The startup is also announcing a partnership with Kitchen United at today’s show that will bring Flippy robots to the “WeWork for restaurants.” Miso will be utilizing the information gathered at the space to improve its artificial intelligence and machine learning software.
WeWork for Restaurants… I hope so.
the best part…
“The CaliExpress by Flippy location will also double as a pseudo-museum experience presented by Miso Robotics. Guests can see dancing robot arms, experimental 3D-printed artifacts, photographic displays and more.”
What’s AI about this? It mentions “custom orders” and “precise cook times” but you can just hard code that. My dumb microwave from 2012 does that.
The restaurant came to life thanks to the partnership between Cali Group, a technology forward holding company, Miso Robotics, the creator of Flippy, the world’s first AI-powered robotic fry station, and PopID, a technology company that uses biometrics to simplify ordering and payment systems.
Haha, thanks but absolutely not!
What microwave do you have? I would love if my microwave cooks custom order.
Most microwaves made in the past decade have buttons that let you tell it whether you’re reheating a plate of leftovers, soup, pastries, etc and they change the power output and cook time based on that.
Why, is there something more custom than that going on with this “AI”?
Eternally relevant
I bet a burger is still $15 and fries are still $8 despite minimal labor costs. I wonder if the kiosks will prompt you to leave a tip
