Literally this they never left. I have like 3 point & shoot digital cameras laying around for when actual events come up and my low tier trash phone camera won’t suffice.
They still use them in photography classes my guy.
Any modern phone would shit all over that thing, and the photography class my high school runs (Public school in the US btw) has regular DSLRs with the fancy swappable lenses photographers like so much
Modern phones that cost way more then $39 that you’ll be crying over when it falls into a lake or some shit during vacation.
There’s much better ones made for actual film production that cost a ridiculous amount that can shoot upwards of 8k.
Point is they’re still very much around; maybe not as common as in the past but still around, unlike landline which is pretty much completely dead.

A DLSR that only shoots in 1080p already cost ~$400, 4k usually go for $2 grand at least.
