I have voted blue in every election since Obama McCain, despite not liking a single one of the General election candidates, and I phone banked and primaried for Bernie twice.
I don’t blame those who sat out. The only reason I don’t is to maximize harm reduction so I can look myself in the mirror. I blame those that voted for Trump for Trump.
We have a center right party and a fascist party, both hypercapitalist. You can scream at democratic socialists like me and other leftists, but in my entire lifetime, we have never had a party platform to enthusiastically vote for, only against the worst of 2 terrible options that embrace economic inequity and are well bribed to do so.
And singling them out as the worst offenders for doing nothing on election day while people voted FOR the fascist has just ensured keeping those that decided to disengage stay disengaged, because the neoliberals that run the Democrat party seem to hate leftists even more than Republicans, and say the same thing every cycle to them.
Because at least Republicans believe in our herp derp “free” market capitalist economy, amirite? I wish that commonality our supposed leftwing party has had with Republicans for ages, but especially since Reagan, would tell you something…
Because a society shouldn’t be comfortable with an economy that by design leaves so many of its people “losing” so hard they’re dying of exposure on our streets, let alone BOTH of our only 2 political parties that matter. But we aren’t a society, just a bunch of rugged individuals at each other’s throats fighting for the owner’s ever dwindling scraps.
15·11 days agoWon’t stop Trump from declaring victory at noon, and have his shoving some hack, crayon transition plan at any doting media outlets that will take them, because if he can get even the most ridiculous challenge to the SCOTUS, that’s the ball game. They’ve grown far bolder at flexing their power for the wealth class than even 2000.
The question will be how much the media indulges his clear, intentional deception as the “candidate claims victory, stay tuned for further details.”
It helps make simple code when Im feeling lazy at work and need to get something out the door.
In personal life, I run a local llm server with SillyTavern, and get into some kinky shit that often makes for an intense masturbation session. Sorry not sorry.
10·17 days agoLet’s be honest, our “free market” is a regular casino for the plebs that own about 10% of shares in their 401ks and Robinhood accounts, and an intentionally rigged casino for the oligarchs that own the rest, with marked insider information cards, and loaded market manipulation dice.
Gotta love when the bootlickers defend this economy, and market investment, as somehow inclusive, when 93% of stocks are owned by 10% of Americans.

Oh come on now.
Almost all people declaring or otherwise promoting their supposed genius are completely full of shit, Elon comes to top of mind, but there in fact are some savants for which quickly understanding and mastering highly technical domains just comes naturally.
These people are almost always far more interested in exercising their gift/curse and solving problems than in self promotion or feeding a greed disease. People like Elon unfortunately receive most of the fruits and accolades of the efforts of people like this. It makes me sick how selfish, self-important capitalist baffoon types literally rule the world by paying people that do solve mankind’s great problems a salary, then perverting their work to maximize profit and walking out on stage with it in a fucking turtleneck all but declaring “I made dis thing. Don’t ask me how it fucking works, but I made dis. Pay me. I’m God.”
It’s sad that humans largely tend to swoon over, and would much rather be led by charismatic narcissistic bullshit artists, usually dopes who never think before they open their gaping mouth holes, who have no problem declaring they know everything about everything than almost exclusively non-charismatic, high functioning geniuses that are almost always too neurotic to want to lead, which makes them even more desirable candidates to be drafted into it.

Weird line considering what we’re willing to do to nation states to keep their citizens from cooperating socially rather than competing against one another to keep their resource extraction rights open to our capitalists for maximum exploitation.
