  • Hello.

Remember that veganism is an ethical way of living affordable and available to everyone*. Eating and using animal products is a choice, therefore killing and abusing animals is a choice. Stop abusing immigrants to butcher animals for your taste buds, thanks. Stop falling for obvious propaganda and cheap lies by the agricultural industrial complex, thanks. This is still a message of love despite the fact that this makes you feel dissonance in yourself, you’re human, we get it. Do your best, actually try, the world needs us to be kind to animals and nature.

*as far as is possible and practicable.

  • Nobody’s mentioning this but the reason is that when they say ‘next big thing’ what they mean is ‘being able to monetize it and make it profitable’.

They care about usefulness only insofar as its a way to monetize it. It doesn’t need to be useful at all. It’s maybe a nice buzzword for on the PowerPoint slide when they’re trying to convince investors.

But investors aren’t idiots and they are usually pretty fucking tuned in to whatever they put money on. And ai is very oversold and overpromised. It’s not that great, very difficult to get to do what you want, and very costly to operate, with mostly questionable/untrustworthy results that still require a lot of knowledge to be able to work with. Plus it’s begging for a lot of new legislation to protect copyrights and privacy law. So, we need a bunch of idiots with money to make this work and those are usually in the large tech companies (think the bezos and musks of this world). They have the infrastructure and resources to put into it, and then they try to incorporate it into their ecosystem. They’ll probably fuck everything up forever and probably make it so llm’s and other models are going to have to be destroyed to be able to comply to legislation.

Anyone with a brain stays away from investing in this and maybe hedge it a bit. See what happens… I don’t think that there’s going to be other companies popping up in this space. But just the continuing progress of big tech streamlining their current systems until enough people are exposed to enough bullshit to change legislation. Depending on that, maybe some companies will be able to give us something useful like: An ai personal assistant that figured out in the middle of a conversation to put the appointment you made in the agenda, ordered a seat in the restaurant and reroutes you to a gasstation because you’re low on fuel and messages your spouse you’re 5 minutes late because of it. While your privacy is protected and your data secure.

In the meantime we can make pictures of cats in space wearing a clown costume.

  • The power needed to power the laser, if identical, is what determines the temperature here, not the color.

A thousand watt laser is going to make the lead melt while a 5 watt laser won’t.

Another limiting factor is how fast the lead/target material can dissipate the heat. A 10kg block of lead is going to stay a lot cooler than a 5 gram piece of lead.

The colour of the laser has no influence on the final temperature, at all.

The photons are just transferring energy from a to b. And whether they can do it fast or slow doesn’t really matter. Both blue and red photons are subject to the law of conservation of energy. The amount of energy you put in is the amount of energy you get out.

In reality there is probably a difference in how efficient a blue and red laser diode are, so there are losses. And if one is slower than the other, the target material is losing energy to the surrounding air. And that’s why you’ll get different temperatures.

In an ideal setting with exactly identical lasers, where the only difference is the colour, the end result is also exactly the same.

  • Do you even know what communism actually is? I mean do you know where it came from, and why?

If you’re 17 and in America, there isn’t a lot of hope that you have been told about this in a non-biased manner. Young people especially are susceptible to the ideology that they can make it in life through hard work and equal opportunities. You might even already have felt some success in this regard, was able to achieve a goal because you worked for it. And it all makes sense to you.

And you think, In some way or another, that communist are perverting this, maybe by giving away shit for nothing or worse want to take shit from you.

    But that’s not true.

Socialism wants you to fully get your complete value of your labour for you, instead of most of it going to a boss who didn’t work. And communist want to make sure that the system doesn’t allow for bosses to make decisions about the conditions workers live in.

It has yeast eating sugars because of some problem inside the tree. This produces a lot of pressure, because of the production of co2 gas, and this is being released through a weak spot. That’s what you see outside, it’s leaking through the weak spot.

In the crown you should see dead branches and a weak crown. Most likely it has been damaged (badly pruned? ) in the past.

The long and short of it is that if it can cause damage when falling over, remove the entire tree and replace it, hire an arborist. If it doesn’t matter and you don’t care… Sit back and hope it’s going to stay alive for as long as possible. Then just literally don’t do anything, there isn’t a fix. Just remove dead wood.

  • At some point when I kept saying no, there wasn’t much room left for manipulative tactics exploiting my emotional bond. This was at the end of our relationship, where I started to figure out that I was taken use of. I spend thousands and a lot of time on the relationship, while my happiness drained faster than my bank account. I started to realise what was happening to me, took off the pink glasses, and so I started to say no. Which was apparently of the same magnitude of exploding nuclear bombs. Things got mental really fast. I had to just assume that it was fake threats, and if it wasn’t, not my fault.

  • I’m not talking about just money. Of course in current capitalist society we analyse through the lens of finances. But obviously the cost of war includes the loss of human life. And of course some people will manage to profit financially from war. This isn’t a revolutionary thought.

What I mean is that due to the obligation of being a NATO member, there is no way around having to join war in the EU. Actual boots on the ground, full blown, war machine goes choo-choo war. That costs many hundreds or even thousands of American lives. And yes, billions a day.

If you don’t want that, then having Putin lose in Ukraine in key. It’s key because it will diminish his political backing in Russia.

I don’t think you’re considering that bad things happen to good people. Everyone should have the right to easy access to healthcare.

It’s toxic Christianity to believe prayer and being a good person will get you favors with God and grant some kind of immunity to bad things. Bad things happen and it’s okay to feel bad, to have mental problems, to burn out, mourn, worry, etc.

It’s toxic consumer ideology to believe that people are inherently greedy, as it makes you consume more. There is no reason to believe this at all. It’s simply a justification for over consumption in a capitalist system that defines your worth to your wealth.

I’m not trying to make the point that mental Healthcare is some kind of panacea. Mass killings happen everywhere. But I do strongly believe that the rate at which it happens will be drastically reduced by a good system of care.
