If I have to have microplastics in my balls, then the fish do too dammit!
I have a math degree and still can’t do basic addition

It’s something people don’t realize. We may be a scourge on the Earth, but we’re still nowhere even near the top of the list of worst things to happen to this planet.
As the other reply brought up, Theia crashing into Earth. Flood basalt events. The Chicxulub impact.
We may be able to cause some real awful shit, but we still are nothing compared to what the forces of nature can produce. And just to clarify, I’m not saying this to in any way downplay the seriousness of climate change, or that we should do nothing about it.
The answer to the ruthless indiscriminate killing of civilians is not more ruthless indiscriminate killing of civilians
Car bad, train good
I fucking hate stroads
If we’re going old school, go old school. Oldest kid rides in the bed.
Ah yep, you’re right that’s the one I was thinking of. Both are pretty interesting, forget how young this country is sometimes.
So I went to double check, and I got a fair bit of it wrong.

She was actually the daughter of the woman I thought I was talking about. Her mother married her father at ages 29 and 78 respectively, and she was born one of five children in 1930, living until the age of 90 before passing in 2020.
Not at all an answer to your question, but a very semi-related tangent.
The last receipt of a US Civil War pension passed away relatively recently. She was a young woman who would regularly help out a local older man, a civil war vet with no kids or family otherwise. Towards the end of his days, he married her so she’d get the benefits of his pension, as things were really really tough.
Some of the detail might be off, going off of memory, but that’s the general gist.
EDIT:

Russia could’ve, y’know, just not done an illegal invasion of Ukraine.
While true, the general cultural preference for larger vehicles will inherently carryover to when people are deciding what EV to buy.
It’s a feedback loop. A fairly small jump can get you trending, which makes people watch it, which makes it even more visible, rinse and repeat.
Anyone who’s name is an anagram for The Reptile invalidates your entire premise…
You don’t know even know my real name, I’m the fucking Lizard King
There’s plenty of tech from my younger days that was fun then that I wouldn’t find fun now. An original iPod is not one of those.
Sure, if you use it for an hour a day, you’re not gonna notice it much. And I’m not disagreeing that a lot of the software sorely needs to be improved. The people who are going to notice aren’t you. They’re the ones using their devices all day for work or similar.
Hoping they have success, but to say that their laptop chips are truly mainstream, at least in the same sense that Apple gives, is a bit generous I feel.
Obviously the X series has a decent shot at changing that, which I really hope it does.
I like keeping tabs on it, as they’re really the only ones pushing mainstream high end ARM chips at the moment.
The primary benefit for the average consumer tends to be longer battery life due to the same task using less power, in theory anyway.
If we had the same size, I could be wearing my grandfather’s steeltoes that are probably a solid 40 years old. People really underestimate how long good footwear lasts when you take care of it.
I’m assuming it’s unnecessary and out of place sarcasm
Kbin does that sometimes
