What a cool device. I just watched this video on it and lost a bunch of my morning in a quite enjoyable way.

Shame the company died before they could do much with it.
Honestly those are terrifying. I can’t imagine doing any of that whilst on the move.
Pain does suck.
We’ve moved away from nsaids (naproxen and ibuprofen) because of the stomach ulcers. If it doesn’t help try taking regular paracetamol instead it might help a bit and won’t mess up your stomach.
So something I tell my patients after they have had a surgery is that our goal with pain killers is to make the pain bearable rather than gone. Paracetamol is a great painkiller and helps opioids to work better. It’s also non addictive and provided you don’t take more than the packet recommends very safe.
For chronic pain the current thinking is it’s multifactorial, but basically your brain gets set with your pain threshold too low, there is also a huge psychological element to pain and therapy or things like CBT can be hugely beneficial.
For me paracetamol and codeine have been enough to manage all the pain I’ve had, the worst being when I fell off my bike and smashed my ribs (pretty sure I didn’t break any), luckily I’m in the 90% of people who can metabolise codeine to something more useful. Didn’t make the pain go away but meant I could breathe a full breath without flinching. Codeine at lower doses just makes me a bit drowsy and slow. Good for getting to sleep.
It’s surprisingly fun and easy, I’ve made it this far with just a few YouTube tutorials and harmonica for dummies. Plus it’s a good sounding instrument for about £30 which is really reasonable.
I’ve started playing the harmonica, so I’ve gone from having no idea to being able to play some simple songs.
Bread and Fred looks great but my wife and I turned it off after half hour. The mechanics are proper hardcore physics sim with very little room for error or hand holding. It honestly just wasn’t fun for us. I think there’s a demo available so maybe try that before you spend money on it.
Phogs - simple puzzle platformer where you play an end of a 2 headed snake dog.
Lovers in a dangerous space time - share control of your spaceship to rescue cute animals. Take turns driving, manning the weapons or shields. Top down camera
Overcooked 1 and 2 - flammable chaotic cooking adventures. Top down camera.
Trine 1-4 are all pretty decent for some side scrolling puzzle action platforming.
Diablo 3 (on console as pc doesn’t have local for some stupid reason) is a great action RPG.
The first half was some of the best anime I’ve seen. Then it devolved into a by the numbers shonen complete with a magical school and “tests” with unnecessary action scenes. I was ultimately disappointed by it because the whole season didn’t live up to the amazingly high standard the first few episodes set. I still enjoyed it and would give it a solid recommendation but it gets worse as it goes on in my opinion. The first half where you are properly seeing the world through the eyes of someone ageless has that beautiful sadness I don’t think I’ve seen anywhere else.
I really enjoyed this show. The characters were all good the life cycles and the weird biology were interesting and largely made sense. There were only a couple points where I went that’s silly the writers clearly just wanted x to happen but x was cool enough for the silly to not bother me too much, it just took me out the moment a little. Solid recommendation, one of the best sci-fi I’ve watched in the last couple years.
I keep hearing it’s amazing but I bounced off hard on the first couple episodes. I wish anime didn’t need the 5 episodes rule, things should sell themselves from the start. Maybe I’ll give it another go. My wife is keen to watch it.
Got myself some StepOne boxers, best undies I’ve ever owned no questions asked. Miles better than anything else I’ve worn, I’m incapable of going back to lesser pants now. They are made with bamboo fiber, have a low friction glide panel between your legs and have a pouch for the junk to sit in. They aren’t cheap but worth every penny in my opinion.
I can second all of these. Generation zero is the only one I didn’t enjoy much but I suspect it’s a lot better with friends.
The rest are fab, I’m currently playing Kena it’s like Pixar/ Disney meets dark souls. Beautiful game, has these little critters which follow you around called rot who are super cute and you can put hats on them.
Control is just excellent. The combat feels great and for me the whole game was worth playing just for the Ashtray maze sequence.
Not sure it fits as it’s souls with guns, so missing the spectacle fighter element, but it’s definitely worth a look. They are both excellent games. I love the core loop they’ve got, the shooting feels excellent.
On this sort of line maybe Metal Gear Rising Revengence could be worth a look.
Check out Furi.
It’s a flashy boss rush style game. A bit bullet hell a bit brawler. Might scratch that itch for you.
You could also try Sifu, it’s got really slick skill based combat and interesting bosses.
That makes a lot more sense. Thank you.
I’m not sure I’m getting the big picture on this, they are on strike because the government wants to train more doctors? Surely that’s a good thing?
Take a cooking class. Learn how to manage a kitchen fire with a fire blanket or extinguisher and get one of each. Start practicing. You’ll burn stuff and make food that’s no good but you’ll get better. Start simple with stuff like pasta.
