I wonder what games would take up that much space for save files. I mean if a game is autosaving frequently sure but I feel like you’d need a decent amount of them
Big fan of SBC gaming, open source engine recreations/source ports, gaming in general, alternative operating systems, and all things modding.
Trying to post and comment often in an effort to add to Lemmy’s growth.

It seems like you’d be better off on a site like Hacker News if you are that motivated to avoid politics
I don’t know how much Linux content they’d see with trans blocked
Added an example photo from /r/unixsocks
I was going to mention the support aspect. I believe some TOTP 2FA applications have automatic online backups by default but some don’t and require users to make their own backups. I can only imagine how challenging it would be to deal with users who have locked themselves out of their account due to their 2FA setup.
I had to go through that with itch.io a while back and had to verify my most recent purchases to recover my account. It was nice I was able to get it back but that in itself could be a security concern.
How does this compare to other music streaming services these days?
Your example made me wonder how effective coating yourself in sound padding tiles to the point you resemble a lychee fruit would be.
At that point, it was no longer sound but sheer pressure. You could feel it in your chest.
I wonder if there would be a way to counter that though. Maybe some kind of sound-focused bomb suit developed for a single profession?
I imagine most situations are avoidable with modern technology allowing us to do things remotely but perhaps there was something used historically or as part of a “because I can” experiment.
I wonder how the shift from Reddit to Lemmy compares to the shift from Digg to Reddit.
You feel like there are more power tripping moderators here?
I feel like Lemmy has been pretty chill. Most communities are small enough they’re just happy to have some kind engagement. They haven’t been deleting my post because my title wasn’t formatted correctly or because it didn’t perfectly fit one ultra-specific niche
Don’t forget about all the gore subreddits like /r/WatchPeopleDie
That’s part of the reason I am here. You could just go to some place like Exploding-Heads but there’s a reason so many instances defederate from them
I am not looking to fill those niches. I was curious because it was quite popular a while back.
Neat. I’ve had that on my list of games I should play for a while now
I feel like it’s going to be a challenge to find a definition of malicious most people agree on.
Someone might think it’s fine to make nudes of Captain Marvel for example because she’s a character. They don’t really care about the Brie Larson aspect.
I suppose there is the option to eliminate any kind of name based suggestions.
Good point. I don’t know how I didn’t think of that
Yeah but I like to think I am a bit better about not ingesting hair care products through my eyes, nose, and mouth than a Schnauzer. Hopefully it was something non-toxic
I recall some people using Akinator to find pornstars they might be interested so you might be onto something.
Am I the only one who finds this so weird when we talk about LLMs? If someone makes a bot that resembles some specific person, that person’s rights aren’t really violated, and since they’re all fictional content, it is very hard to break actual laws through its content. At that point we would have to also ban people’s weird fan fiction, no?
Not arguing about whatever they want or don’t want on their platform, but the legal & alleged moral questions / arguments always weird me out a bit, because there’s no one actually getting hurt in any sort of way by weirdos having weird chats with computers.
I could see some people making the argument that it could be considered defamatory especially in cases where it is being peddled as real. Politicians might even try to link it in with revenge porn or other non-consensual pornography laws.
It would sure get messy in a hurry though. Imagine someone trying to make lewd photos of Tomb Raider’s Laura Croft for example and accidentally generates images resembling Alicia Vikander or Angelina Jolie from the Tomb Raider movie.
I feel like hair dye for dogs must be a thing. Though it sounds like they used human hair dye on them.
If it didn’t hurt them I’d think this is a little cute
I wonder how this will work with local accounts
