I literally only still have my FB account until I can sell all of the stuff I have listed on marketplace. Every other aspect of my FB account was deleted years ago. At first I kept the account because of the broken promise of never requiring a FB account for the Quest. They finally changed that(sort of, they require a meta account instead), but I still kept the account for marketplace. It’s the only place I’ve been able to successfully sell anything for at least 3 or 4 years. Once I sell off the last few items I have listed there(really need the money at the moment), I can finally delete my account fully.

One can of no beans Hormel chili, one can of black beans, rinsed and (somewhat) dried. Mix in a big bowl, microwave until hot, add sour cream and shredded cheese, and use it like dip with tortilla chips. If you’re good at rinsing the beans, and your microwave doesn’t suck, you can have this ready in 5 minutes. And the only dirty dishes to deal with are a single large bowl, and a spoon.

Another thing I tend to eat a lot when I get home from work in the morning and don’t want to do anything, is literally just a bunch a wheat thins, a block of pre-sliced sarento cheddar cheese, and a container of sliced pepperoni from the deli. Takes like 2 minutes to grab those while I’m waiting for the bus home from work. Fuck ton of sodium, though. Same with the chili, I guess.

Why do all of the comments make it seem like people think that someone asked chatgpt to write a George Carlin routine or whatever? A human person, not a computer, wrote some comedy in (what they felt) was in the style of George Carlin. The technology portion of this was the cloning of Carlin’s voice to “perform” the routine. And you can feel however you want about either part of that. I mean, seems like you’d have to be pretty far up your own ass to think you can just put your own words into the mouth of someone else, especially someone who is no longer in a position to call you a fucking idiot, or not. But the story that people are commenting on, sure seems to be quite different to the actual events that occurred.

As far as the actual story, they know what they did. They know full well that they could have actually did a Carlin impersonation if they had wanted. They could have written their material, went up on stage, said exactly want they were doing, performed their bit, dressed up for the part, hitting as many of the mannerisms as they could. A real, actual, proper attempt at an impersonation. They could have done that, and almost no one would have cared. A few people might have been upset about it, as there always are. But largely, no one would have batted an eye.

But they didn’t do that. They did this. They did this, knowing full well that the claim of it being an “impersonation” was bullshit. And knowing full well what the response would be. And it was exactly the response they wanted. All of the attention and outrage they are getting directed at them right now? That was the point.

I didn’t even realize they had a desktop app. I’ve been using the mobile app for a few years. I was just thinking about installing the mobile app in my WSA install, since it just didn’t even occur to me that there was a desktop version. I guess now it doesn’t matter either way.

I pay the $2/month version. Supports the dev, and keeps an otherwise unused credit card active. And considering this is now the only form of social media and/or interacting with other people online I use, I figure it’s worth two bucks a month. The same way the $15 or so I didn’t post month, spread across multiple patreon accounts, is worth it to support the small handful of content creators that make the vast majority of my daily entertainment.

I’ve been trying to take two stances lately. The first being the idea of “if you’re not the customer, you’re the product.”

And the second being the CGPGrey method. Which is basically, if an app or service is important to me, I specifically WANT it to be a paid app/service. If the app in question doesn’t have a clear path to being financially viable for those making/running it, there’s too much risk that the dev may eventually have to stop working on it in order to go do something else that can earn them a living.

Or no, something being open source, or not, did not change this equation. People gotta live.

What I’m eating will determine which two of those I am combining together. Potentially all three, in some cases. But there are also times when all the of those are better left out, in favor of barbecue sauce.

Chinese food. The common fast food type here in the US. Yeah, I can spend a bunch of time, work, and money to make orange chicken, boneless spare ribs, crab rangoon, teriyaki, coconut shrimp, and pork fried rice. Or, I can go 5 minutes up the street, and pay my favorite restaurant $20 for a big plate with all of that, with absolutely no work on my part, and it all tastes way better.

There was a local band where I am 20+ years ago called Naucet. With songs such as “This is Not a Convenient Time to be Stabbed”. I have absolutely no idea what happened to the band, where they went, what they did. I can find no reference to them anywhere online whatsoever. I have a musician friend who was friends with them(maybe just one of them, I forget at this point) and has copies of their music on an old hard drive somewhere in a closet. Been a number of years since I’ve seen/heard from said friend, so I can only assume whether or not he still has that old hard drive. If he does, then for all I know, that might be the only place in existence that you can find that music.

The only Christmas-related media I like in any capacity, is the OG Grinch cartoon. So Thurl Ravenscroft is the only person I wanna hear singing on Christmas.

I think you’ve missed the entire point. Like, completely missed it.

I’ve put about 100 into my first playthrough, even with the extreme amount of bugs that locked me out of so many areas, quests, characters, etc(which I get downvoted for every time I mention that such bugs exist). But then work got in the way and I haven’t played in probably a month. I would guess I’m half way through act 3, or more. I really need to finish the game. Now that there has been a major update or two since I last played, I’m hoping the bugs I experienced are finally fixed, so I can start a new playthrough and get to do all of the stuff that bugged out. Kinda want to start again with the same character I have now, since I feel like she kinda got cheated, with all of the bugs. Also really want to play the new Cyberpunk and Tales of Arise expansions before that, too. And those are also a question of whether I load up my existing characters, or start an entirely new playthrough for each.

No, that was step one. Operate at a loss until you suck up all of the users and kill off as much of the competition as you can. Now we’re at step two, where the time has come where they desperately need to actually make money, e.g. YouTube. You’re going to see more and more “free” sites/apps/services entering step two, if they haven’t already.

Funny, considering I’ve moved over to a paid proton account as my primary email, and my former primary email/Gmail account, with its ability to instantly become infinitely many disposable email addresses, is now used as exactly that. This same procedure occured many years ago, when I made my yahoo email into the disposable junk mail home, and my shiny new Gmail became my primary. I wonder how many years it be until proton becomes my disposable, and some as-of-yet to be created service becomes my new primary email. Or maybe email will finally be dead by then, and we’ll use something else entirely.

I will say, even after all of these years, and using the living shit out of my Gmail account in many, many places, I still only get two or three spam emails at most during the entire year.

None. I’m not rich, I don’t have the luxury of straight-out boycotting any particular company. If I could, both Amazon and Walmart would be top of the list. And I’m sure many others.

Hell, I’ve been wanting to finally delete my Facebook account for years now, but Facebook marketplace is apparently the ONLY place I’m ever going to be able to sell anything. It’s the only reason I still have the account. I have long since delete all posts, photos, and literally any other data that they would let me delete, aside from marketplace posts and associated messenger conversations. Used to buy and sell constantly on Craigslist for many years, now I haven’t been able to successfully sell a single item in at least the last 2-3 years. Letgo was a decent one for a while, until the app got bought by, and then shut down by, OfferUp. And the OfferUp people are basically con artists (use shady methods of boosting the number of “active” listings, in order to artificially inflate the value of their company). It has been nearly impossible to sell, or even BUY anything on OfferUp, after several years of trying to make user of the app.
