A corporation will never care for people or look out for people’s best interests, it only ever cares about finances going up, and will put that before everything. An authoritarian regime wanting to censor their genocide? Absolutely. Fuck the victims, it’s more important that our pockets are well lined.

Bluesky is just twitter. It’s the same bullshit with a different recipe. It’ll never be a good platform for democracy.

Does it really count if it’s not a suit, though? Suppose you wouldn’t have to enter naked, and could actually just wear an actual suit and use that as a loophole. “I’m a fur in a suit, clearly I match the criteria!”

I don’t really see the point in moving from one effectively centralised corpo platform to another.

There’s something called Webcord, which is essentially a wrapper around the web version, with the added bonus of blocking various trackers and whatnot, so a bit more private.

During a meeting not too long ago someone was like “we’re looking into using AI to generate these reports.”

So they have a dude who gets requests to generate reports. It’s not the same reports, but rather custom reports from scattered bits of data throughout a huge database. Ergo you can’t really create a program to extract these reports on demand, a person actually has to sit and piece these together.

Now they want to use LLMs to alleviate him, as this isn’t technically his role.

They scoffed at me when I asked about how important it is that these reports are accurate, but I mean, it’s a valid concern. Best case you get sometimes-hallucinated reports, worst case you get something that wreaks havoc on the database because it just spits out garbage SQL.

I’m very glad that my role doesn’t involve that BS.

I’m in my 30s and this is me with plants. No shame at all.

Oh no, absolutely essential but not essential enough to deserve respect, be paid a living wage, or require good working conditions. Just essential to my comfort.

I think for it to be more accurate to my experience, different parts of the bubbles should be blurred, and they should say different things.
