Right click> select option works too. You have plenty of options that will already work for you. Just because you don’t like them doesn’t make it not accessible.

So more Gmail than G+
Might Bluesky be doing the same?
In fairness, Gmail had a similar invite system when it launched and that’s been way more successful than G+
Look for the little joys. Seriously. You know that light that always seems to be red when you get there? Celebrate the times it’s not rather than getting annoyed when it is. Make up words from the letters on a license and consider what might make a person want that. Come up with bad answers. Absurd ones. Find shapes in clouds.
Not all of that is easy but it can be worth the effort.
Happiness can be chosen, just not all the time. Look for the places you can and try to do it. Like anything it’ll get easier with practice.
*There are hard things that will make choosing happiness nigh impossible. If you find yourself in one of these places you need external help, very probably professional. It’s not weakness to acknowledge that any more than it is to see a doctor if you cut off your arm.
Thanks for picking up where the summary dropped the ball
And if a home invader with commercially available arms so decided it’s the end of your family. That’s how scale works.
But you don’t give in to a bully to avoid violence. That’s how you get more people/countries bullied.
This is not intended as a threat of violence. This is an analogy to make a point that should be obvious
My quote, not theirs. Also Russia is a bully. Similar to the kind that takes lunch money, but on a much larger scale
You’ve got an important word there. Scale.
Countries aren’t people but they’re made up of them. It wouldn’t take nuclear weapons to annihilate your household.
Russia has invaded Ukraine’s home and tried to lay claim. Now you’re suggesting they give up what was taken from them to satisfy your desire for peace.
The analogy the other person used is fair. In another analogy Russia is nothing more than a bully. We’ve long moved past the time where the advice we give is to just give the bully your money so they don’t beat you up and take it anyway.
Gee I wonder what kind of opinion the person who down voted you has
I’m very much in agreement with you. I think there’s an important value in seeking out those you disagree with. If your values can’t stand under scrutiny then you really do need to carefully consider them.
At the same time there’s space between what you disagree with and what is harmful to your state of mind for most people. Plenty of people don’t want to see anything NSFW and removing that is in no way turning their experience into a bubble.
Nuance is absolutely an important word here but I think the knee jerk isolation response to mention of blocking things is far more harmful than helpful.
You think people should be forced to see things they don’t want to?
FWIW I home at midwest.social. It’s not strictly for the Midwest US but you’ll see a lot of stuff for that region there. It’s also left leaning and I think the only instances they’ve defederated so far have been for extremism.
I’m also using jerboa on my phone and from my inbox there’s a speech bubble button which lets me make this response from my inbox.
I don’t know if either of these things will help you but I figured I’d offer them just in case they did.
No worries. Lemmy feels way more casual than Reddit anyway and I got notifications for months old comments there from time to time
Running both Windows and Linux
Yeah but what if I’m not dual booting?
If there’s any you thought you should’ve gotten and didn’t that’s probably what happened there too
I can actually explain that.
Gmail will ignore periods and things after a plus sign.
So if we assume my name in so if you have Man.And.Wife@gmail it’s the same as ManAndWife@gmail as well as M.a.n.A.n.d.W.i.f.e@gmail or anything in between.
You could also use ManAndWife+roebuck@gmail if you wanted to filter out the emails you get from a defunct retailer.
It’s all very useful for categorizing emails and tracking down who is selling your email address to spam lists
A political party makes up parts of the government and uses their ads to whitewash their own actions within the government.
This division is not at clean as you’re trying to make it
Does it count when a major political party, that does that all the time, uses the money it pilfered from that government, or is that different somehow?
What about that the only reason they’re not doing it directly from the government account is because of the safeguards against that kind of thing they haven’t pulled down yet
I think the standard is that you can use the tools and options available to you to open in a new tab or window. If none of those are usable for you I’d have a hard time believing you can find the option you want buried in a settings menu.
