Generally I think this has something to do with average age of model trained vs age of depicted person. Humans have large heads proportional to their bodies in youth and then averages out. On top of this another commenter mentioned art. So many anime/cartoon characters have larger heads to show the expressions and in turn show a youthful nature in these characters.

Another addition to this is, as another poster stated, the angles of these photos makes a larger head more apparent, probably because we associate larger heads with intelligence, and so poses have just developed to make that appearance.

Similar to “the average number of arms is less than 2 because there’s greater chances there will be people with zero or one arm, rather than an extra”. Your model will draw on its wealth of samples where the head is disproportionately larger, instead of proportionate - because it was probably fed more photos of hat age range and doesn’t know any different. You asking for AI to give you a person like Trump (78) will show that disparity in head size more than if you ask for Greta Thunberg (21)

How does a country get this under control? If you assemble a crack team of professional Intel/gunfighters/breaching team, all the gang leaders will do is target their families or other things around them. In a firefight, they outnumber your team thousands to one. You can’t assemble a large fighting force (standing army) without them knowing and stopping you/ infiltrating ranks. You can’t ask another nation to help - you run into basically us/Soviet’s in Afghanistan where they’re seen as occupiers, and generate resentment among even your supporters.

I understand the change probably has to come from within, but how does a government convince the lowest common person to not fall under the organized crime’s strong influence to keep people in line?

An argument I heard, and adopted is that it’s never “just” cosmetic. Your enjoyment of the game is impacted by how you perceive your avatar. This is why fortnite skins sell so well to new players. It’s not just cosmetic to drop $20 on Cuddle Team Leader. It makes a user feel silly and increases enjoyment running around as an obvious pink mascot costume. It prolongs how long you play both by increased enjoyment, and sunk cost fallacy. In any game with cosmetics, purchases drive playtime.

Every time. Seems more like companies aren’t “hit with” them at all, more like… They “get to participate” or “decide to indulge” in layoffs.

So, what service have they been doing for me (genuine)? It has been some time (since now I have a backup of important stuff to not need recovery), but I took a laptop in for cooked hard drive and got a thumb drive back with what looked like they were able to copy everything from the top level folder. Opening the thumb drive brought me to what most people see at the top level - a bunch of folders named My Documents, My Pictures, My Computer, etc Obviously stuff was missing from the crash, but they got a bunch of stuff from a fried laptop.

Idk Best buy and an IT place here offer disk recovery for about $100. Everything they can save from it, copied to a thumb, disk, or external hard drive. I didn’t realize this was such a service. If you have them, try a best buy I guess. I’ve taken laptops and HDDs to the IT place just cuz they’re local business but I know I’ve taken dead desktops to BBuy to get a disk salvaged

I distinctly remember growing up hearing there’s not even a .01% margin for error on spacecraft. That they must be so durable to withstand the conditions of leaving/reentry and the shuddering vibrations. I realize it’s different, but the big fear is always having another Challenger. Challenger didn’t just break up, it exploded into 2 pieces on national television. " teacher going to space" had a TV in every classroom across the country watching it.

Helium seems used in the modern rocket to keep hot gas pipes separate from cold liquid fuel. 3 minutes before launch the system is charged and maintained by ground, just before ignition it’s disengaged and the system has to support itself. The helium on board only needs to stay pressurized for the 7 minutes or so it takes before the thrusters are spent, and purged, and that’s why they don’t view it as an issue. But still sounds like fuckass Boeing being ok gambling with lives while NASA shrugs - again.

Grew up on windows 7. It was all I needed and was perfect. I don’t need anything else. I didn’t even want 10 but 10 is…ok I guess. I def don’t want 11 though.

It’s not a game for everyone, but it is a lot of fun (if you enjoy building a tank). Part of why I really like it is there’s no real pve tank games right now and this is the closest offering. I’d fuckin kill for Warthunder-but-open-world. Or even mission based. This scratches part of that itch.

But noone is asking how the fuck you can spend $44,000 on videogames that aren’t beholden to gambling laws.

Selecting “don’t want to use this anymore” gives you a box with 255 charachter limit (because of course they don’t want to hear a real reason) and then when you hit send you just get “Thank you, account closed, if you come back you will need a new account”

Surprisingly, suspiciously, painless.
