  • I was going to immediately mention Hollow Knight but I see someone already did. Second thought: Tunic. It’s been a long time since a game hit me as hard as those two.

For pure fun addictive gaming: Factorio is absolutely nuts. 2D survival craft platforming action: Terraria is still king.

For space empire building check out X4: Foundations, after almost 10 years under development it’s absolutely amazing (but a huge timesink haha)

Oh and if you’re into semi-hard-scifi basebuilding you could give Stationeers a look. Sunk quite some hours into that one.

  • Not really all that strange. I’m not up on how this particular vote went but if 39% is in favor only 23% needs to abstain for the ‘against’ vote to be in the minority. Also counting by percentage of the total population is misleading and kind of dumb, we’re never going to have individual referenda for this type of decision making and thank god for that. That’s how we got Brexit.

Aside this form of Musk style “interesting 🤔” rhetoric really raises my hackles.

  • Killing the head of a terrorist organization won’t help if you don’t fix the underlying issues. He will be replaced in short order, usually by someone worse. Likewise this kind of political movement.

What the left in Europe (well in my country at least) still doesn’t understand is that they’re not going to fix this by lecturing the populist voters about how all their thoughts and ideas are wrong.

  • This one paid off. Read the interviews given by mr Arbaugh. Musk is an ego-driven maniac, you won’t get any argument from me. But as a result a bunch of scientists got more funding than they normally would for this project that gave great joy and some measure of independence to a young quadriplegic, maybe with more to follow.

You want to hate on Musk? I’ll happily join you. But if you’re one of those assholes rooting against these doctors and scientists doing ground breaking work with Musk’s money, that’s a pretty terrible take.

  • I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, except maybe we should switch to show not tell. I understand that it’s not as easy as that but over the last let’s say 30 years, how much has the left really improved life for the rural population? And by comparison how much do we preach to them that they’re backwards and their world view is invalid?

It’s exactly as you say, the working class should be an easy win for us on policy, but it hasn’t turned out that way.

You can just say “well they’re stupid that’s what you get” or you can ask yourself why aren’t we getting these people on board while some greasy billionaire can?
