NGL I kinda want a Polestar.
I’m not super into cars, but it’s my understanding Holden was a local manufacturer that got bought out by GM? Or if not that, then they were making specifically Australian vehicles despite being part of GM, much like Ford Australia used to. Both ended up shutting down operations down here, so now we have nothing local.
If the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
That’s the only thing I can think to answer your question. There are some problems that are best solved with other tools, like text parsing for example you might want to call out to some code written in a functional language.
The ATO’s myTax system is pretty great, I hope with this you guys finally get something as nice.
I never liked the idea of my “likes” being a browsable list. What’s the point of retweeting, if likes are browsable?
Glad it 's finally changing. Broken clock, I guess.
Xitter is doing something I want? What’s the catch?
This is true, but compared to the prevailing alternative I’ll take it. Unless there’s a viable FOSS alternative for whatever software we’re talking about at the time, of course. :P
“Buying American” would be exporting money for me, and there’s no domestic car manufacturing anymore. So I’m sending money overseas no matter what I buy, and it’s probably all made in China anyway… :P
I did this ages ago now. Was a non-issue.
Edit: To clarify, I’m not endorsing MS on not fixing this. Just saying I did it and had no issues.
I’m okay with most of this, but don’t want to see this logic universally applied. For example, I think art should be preserved, and that includes games. Consigning years of work from dozens to hundreds of people to the void because the publisher got tired of it absolutely should be considered a monumental failure.
Addictive is right. I’m in the process of building myself a smart mailbox with a couple proximity sensors and an ESP32. It’s been quite the undertaking, and quite expensive if you count the tools I bought for the project.
Ah, I see. That’s a fair point, and yeah I do worry about GOG’s potential for enshitification. But knowing at least my past purchases will not become shit is some small comfort.
GOG doesn’t contribute to Proton AFAIK, and doesn’t offer amazing QOL stuff like Steam Input. But what you buy from them is yours forever, assuming you sensibly back it up yourself. So “best we got” is debatable depending on what you value.

I dunno, I like BG3 a lot more than DOS2. I like actually being able to move and not feel like I wasted my turn doing so, and I feel like I get a lot less “fuck! I didn’t want to go there!” situations eating up all my actions in BG3. Having distinct action / bonus action resources, where the latter can be converted into extra movement, is a good system IMO. Now if only they allowed you to use your action as a bonus action if you wanted…
Racial bias in, racial bias out.
Huh, didn’t expect geforce now to have a free tier.
That’s what I was thinking, yeah.
The antagonist of Cataclysm is actually legitimately scary.
