At some point decades from now maybe? I still think nuclear and fusion research are important for human civilization, I just think it’s stupid to waste money on building power plants using nuclear technology in its current state.
Ammonia believe it or not.
The reason we don’t build nuclear power plants anymore (including small modular), is because they’re insanely expensive, produce only a small amount of power compared to you can produce with renewables, and always come with cost overruns. Nuclear power is the techsploitation of of tbe 60’s and 70’s. Most governments look at the economics now and realize they can do solar plus storage for a fraction of the immediate and long term cost.

If you’re going to stop Russia from invading Ukraine why aren’t you putting German troops in Ukraine? You’re not helping your partner your killing Ukranians to weaken America’s enemy. Tell me what the difference between Israel and Russia is and what they’re doing to their smaller neighbours is. And then tell me why Germany condemns one atrocity but supports the other. It’s not about supporting a partner and I think you’re being naive or disingeneous if you think so.
Germany is now running deficits to support a war that’s already been decided. Ukraine is a corrupt country where many weapons given to it find their way onto the international black market. The standard of living in Germany is getting worse. Using deficit spending on a non-productive good like weapons to a foreign country that is corrupt will accelerate Germany’s decline.
Germany is on a steady decline, decisions like this increase the pace.
Guess what the Americans and Brits did to the Italians after WW2? You might be surprised at the answer.
You’re confused with the country bombing hospitals right now.
Yes continue.
Why would that be progress?
There are two types of hydrogen cars: Fuel Cell EVs and ICE built to run with hydrogen fuel. Both of them are the future of fuel. You won’t see a network of EV charging stations in most south american, african, or Asian countries. The EV revolution is very urban focused. Hydrogen as a fuel that can be transported almost as easily as gasoline is the pragmatic future. EVs are popular because Elon Musk went viral.
Edit: totally aware it’s not successful at the moment: https://www.motor1.com/news/693449/toyota-hydrogen-mirai-not-successful/
I expect with the amount they’re investing in FCEVs that EVs will only last another decade-ish.
It’s hard to argue that the escalations of harassment, settler expansion, and killings of Palestinians in 2023 wouldn’t lead to some sort of retribution attack by Palestinians. I think the Israelis were shocked by the success of the attack and the failure of their security system to minimize the damage. I don’t think they were oblivious when many analysts and even the Egyptian government suggested a few days earlier that things were getting hot (they didn’t warn of an imminent attack like was reported in some media, but that there was an increasing threat of some sort of violent resistance to Israel’s violation of international law).
Israel knows they’re violating the 1967 borders, they also know how bullying works. Every few months, bulldoze some houses and claim that area as your own. Keep squeezing and poking until your victim lashes out violently and then use that violence as justification to be more violent. It’s a classic bully tactic.
Feel like mainstream Israel society has been pretty dogmatized if they elected that fascist into power again. Agree with the rest of your analysis that they’re going to annex as much of Gaza as possible. Israel’s goal is to get Palestinians into the Sinai peninsula, with USA support they might do it in the next decade. I’m curious what will happen after the complete annexation of Palestine. Does US weapons aid stop? Does Israel become more of an apartheid state?
15 years ago I thought the Germans were the smartest people in the world because they understood the importance of investing in public services and had a central european style of capitalism that focused on fundamentals over financialization. since then they’ve slowly been adopting more neoliberal policies and making really stupid foreign policy decisions. I’ve lost a lot of respect for them as a world leader.
You’re definitely from reddit if your being pedantic about what a military Commander is saying to rally his cause. “Actshually there are other occupations going on”. Also are you really trying to make this about Ukraine??
Medvedev is a nut. I think he’s just spewing vitriol to appease the hawks in Russia. The same way Lindsey Graham does in the states.
