There are some Independent News sources I like: Al Jazeera, the Associated Press, Consortium News, All Sides, Reuters, Truthout, NPR, and Propublica.

I wouldn’t mind paying for quality content, but usually you end up paying for crap and seeing ads too. So now the corporate media is double dipping right out of your wallet. Journalism is dead and we’re probably never getting it back.
The thing is if I see an article that’s blocked by a paywall, I can simply go to another site that has the exact same story for free.
Ga, go outside? No way man 😱
I would rather have ads. If I were to subscribe to every website that asked me to subscribe I would be paying $1,000 a month.
Thanks but all I have is a phone.
Thank you so much, that did the trick.
I have not heard of sea lioning either. I learn something new every day. I wonder how sea lions got associated with trolling. I’m going to have to look up the etymology of that; it’s an interesting phrase.
That’s kind of like, “What came first, the chicken or the egg?” It seems to me that when you give a regular person a bunch of money, like winning the lottery, they tend to go kind of nuts with it. So in that way, it seems that money is corrupting them. If you have some kind of ultra-rich person who loves money and power, then they’re already corrupt because of power and money.
Mark Twain said, there are lies, damn lies and statistics.
The peasants are revolting… They certainly are!

I’ve never understood “pull yourself up by your bootstraps,” which is impossible. No matter how hard you pull, you can’t, say, jump a fence. The rich are inadvertently telling poor people that becoming rich by working hard is impossible.
They use sensationalism to make things sound worse than they are.
They selectively report information, leaving out details that don’t fit their agenda.
They use misleading headlines, knowing that people often only read the headlines. They use words like “horrifying,” “catastrophic,” and “viral.”
They manipulate charts, graphs, statistics, and photographs.
Balanced reporting isn’t balanced if it pits a scientist against a conspiracy theorist.
Fair enough
Wouldn’t want a class war brewing.
From the day I was born, my environment shaped what I thought and felt. Entering the school system I was indoctrinated into whatever society I was born to. All of the things that I think I know are shaped by someone else. I read a book and I regurgitate its contents to other people. I read a post online and I start pretending that it’s the truth when I don’t actually know. How often do humans actually have an original thought? Most of the time we’re just regurgitating things that we’ve experienced, read, or heard from exteral foces rather than coming up with thoughts on our own.
Good plan. I’m on board with this plan!
Well, using the definition that artificial means man made then no. Human intelligence wasn’t made by humans therefore it isn’t artificial.
Possibly, I would like to see that sites like this stay alive.
