An old time classic.
An old time classic.
🤣 No kidding!
Dude I know you get down voted a lot but you are probably my most favorite person on this platform. Always love to come across a Lost My Mind comment. Never know what to expect but im probably going to fucking laugh.
It used to be that they would not leave packages unattended at a residence, they would leave a note on the door about an attempted delivery. I suppose with the rise of online shopping things had to change. I don’t see American delivery companies bothering with trying to contact you/retrying deliveries, they just want to get out as many packages as possible… and there is a LOT they have to deliver in a day.
You do have a lot of choices in how you want your items delivered depending on the delivery company. Most of the have apps/websites where you can choose to have them hold the package, or deliver it to a specific location on property. By default packages will be left at the door.
Personally I have never had a problem with porch pirates, and if a package is expensive or important I will have the delivery company hold it and pick it up there.
The code is your ingredients, you put the ingredients together, then bake it (compile). When it’s done you have a pie (a program you can execute and run).
Some of these things might just be the usual Windows problems…like with the heat and fan noise. I have seen huge differences in a few machines (x86 tablet/HP laptop/thinkpad) running Linux vs running Windows. The machines running Linux hardly make a peep until you play a game or compile something. On Windows they were hot and noisy af, night and day difference.
He said until EOL. Windows LTSC, the IoT version in particular is supported until 2032.
1337, cmon now!
Try Fennec browser, literally Firefox with proprietary parts removed and with access to about:config. Can be found in Fdroid
I very much enjoyed your rant. Would subscribe.
Hey fellow HoTS Linuxer!
Y’all need to get yourselves that Windows 10 2021 LTSC IoT badboy (IoT part is important). It’s supported until 2032 and it’s only bloat is edge. If I had to use windows again it would be that.
You don’t even have to be rooted. RCS won’t work using a non-rooted custom ROM.
I’m not so sure about that, they seem pretty hostile to consumers and employees.
Not really, seems like people are much more reasonable IRL than compared to the loud crazy crap you see online.
You could check out distros like mint, zorinOS, fedora, popos, and Nobara. I think all of those will come with nvidia drivers so you don’t have to set them up manually. Nobara in particular is set up for gaming out of the box, I don’t know how well it actually works personally. You could just install Ventoy on a USB stick then load up multiple Linux distros on it, then just select the one you one to try live at boot. Mint and zorin will be the most familiar.
Yea no kidding. Gnome is pronounced Guhnome, Mate DE is pronounced Matay, Open Suse is susuh not soos, and Qt is to be pronounced as “cute” instead of just… Q-T. Many such cases.
Yea tried that already, one won’t work at all and one will stop working after sometime. I assume it still has something to do with google services. I have not tried with microg. Either way… I’ll get there to google-free land eventually its a work in progress. Sometimes I do consider just ripping off the band-aid and installing raw lineage os then learn to deal with it from there.
I agree but there’s 2 apps there is no good alternative for and they are paid, at least one of them I am learning Android studio + Kotlin to recreate it. The other I have found Wx which is OK but besides that there is no good advanced weather radar.
It would be nice if it did have some automatic backup solution. Backup options could be something like Nextcloud, or some local server. Maybe even android backup but the data has to be encrypted with a password and be an opt in feature.
