If Notepad is getting AI text editing then it’s as good as dead too.

Which is sorta the problem with speculation in these threads. We can say “Trump said X”, but really his decisions are based on the number of hamburgers he had that afternoon or which voice whispered in his ear last. We only have wild speculation.
Should you moderate like a bot? No.
I’m human, your human, the community is made up of humans. Act like a reasonable human, and yes, you get to define what is reasonable.
If bots could mod, we would just have them mod, but that would suck.
In terms of rule bending, if it’s in good faith then let it go. If you want to remind someone, that’s fine.
I wouldn’t classify every monolingual person as trapped in an echo chamber
Simply being something isn’t an echo chamber, you have to have a thought or opinion being shared by the group. If every person you interact with only speaks one language, and they all share that one language is the best method of communication, that’s an echo chamber.
Use social media how you like
I agree. Although it is useful to be aware of your own biases.
the solution to echo chambers is going outside and touching grass not forcing yourself to interact with every community on the internet.
Assuming you don’t mean literally “touch grass”, the solution is seeking out opinions/thoughts outside of your echo chamber. That doesn’t necessarily mean forcing yourself to interact with terrible communities, but being aware and understanding (but not agreeing with) them.
Although I again refer to using social media how you like is fine. No one needs to be exposed to certain communities. It’s not wrong or lazy or bad to ignore certain communities or viewpoints, especially toxic ones. However you should be aware that they exist and it can be helpful, if you choose, to understand where they come from.
As a harmless example, if you don’t like brussel sprouts and none of your friends like brussel sprouts, it may benefit you to try brussel sprouts or to seek out and talk to or read about people who like brussel sprouts. You can still at the end of the day dislike brussel sprouts. You don’t have to change your opinion. But now your opinion is more well rounded.
I have lots of shower thoughts, usually it’s what to do next in the D&D campaign I’m running. I could post them, but I don’t think that’s the spirit of the community.
Sure it isn’t a perfect comparison, but the idea is the same.
I dunno, asking a friend is the right thing to do. Demanding things is how I ended up with a body in the first place.
Comcast introduced the “Xfinity” branding in 2010. I still call refer to it as “Comcast”. Any conversation I have where an ISP comes up, the word “Comcast” is used. If someone says “Xfinity”, they often follow it up with “you know, Comcast”.
Now that’s a VERY clear brand change.
The name “X” is a VERY confusing brand change. It will likely be called Twitter forever. In fact at some point Musk will sell or give up on “X” and I guarantee within a year the new owner will change the name back to Twitter.
It’s not technically what you mean, but during the first Doctor Strange film he gets injured and teleports himself to a Hospital. I seem to recall he gives a diagnosis of himself to Christine Palmer while he is in his spirit form, since his body is dying.
The article we’re talking about?
Those dropped from the maintainer list
I always knew Sakurai worked hard to deliver high quality games, but after watching this video, it’s insane.
Creating a whole YouTube channel with 260 videos just because he had a few free months. Doing the majority (pre editing) in just a few months, scripting and recording nearly ever video in advance.
Absolutely wild.
Assuming I accept your premise, the premise of the article is that the actions are not being done by the company.
The key point is that Musk is at fault, not his company.
You can’t just hide behind “the company” and do whatever you want.
At some point, as the EU is discussing, the individual is at fault.
So a company provides infinite protection?
“I didn’t murder that man, the company did.”
“The company paid individual X to murder them, not me.”
No, that’s ridiculous.
There is a line you can cross. Musk has crossed that line. Is it exactly written, if your name is Elon Musk and you own companies X, Y, & Z, and you perform actions A, B, C, you I’ll be fined in this exact way? No. There is a grey area, and a group within the EU is allowed to make a more specific determination.
And do you know who agreed to these rules? Elon Musk. He chose to do business in the EU. He agreed to their rules.
Actions you don’t like aren’t corrupt.
Actions Elon doesn’t like aren’t corrupt.
In fact arguably Elon is the corrupt individual in this case and the EU is simply applying the law to the corrupt individual.
But who determines
How about a governing body with systems of checks and balances? You’re pretending that laws are just out there enforcing themselves. The EU isn’t just some dude with a vendetta. It’s a large collection of people making decisions.
And in fact as a business, in order to do business in the EU, you’ve agreed that the EU has the ability to make decisions like this.
To clarify the cost of creating an LLC is a hundred bucks more or less depending on the jurisdiction. So Elon should be allowed to create “Musk Corp Oct2024 LLC” and then say or do anything under the guise of Musk Corp Oct2024 LLC, then if he’s sued or fined just declare bankruptcy and create “Musk Corp Nov2024 LLC” and do whatever he wants?
At some point you have to recognize the individual is at fault. You can’t just hide behind “Oh that wasn’t me, that was the company” or " That was Musk of SpaceX having an opinion of Musk of Tesla, they are different entities."
If someone is attempting to be genuine and truthful when it comes to personal statements, fine, we can consider the protections. But if someone is flagrant and malicious then those protections no longer apply.
Seismic Toss, but only Charizard from the anime.
Charizard throwing mo’fuckers is awesome every time.
I bought one but didn’t have a data plan. Jumping from WiFi to WiFi still felt like magic. It was a laptop that fit in my pants.
However, that excitement soon faded. “HR said they wanted fresh ideas from young people, but that was not really happening,” he says.
His marketing manager, 13 years his senior, often found his content unclear or unconventional.
In the first two weeks, each 300-word post required over five rounds of revisions. Eventually, all his original ideas ended up being altered.
Hire someone for a creative job. Committee the creativity to death. Wonder why employee is unhappy.
I’m not saying you have to give your employee free reign but you hired someone and then ignored them, maybe the company is wrong.
The first two rules basically just mean no one can interact. A version of YouTube could exist within these rules.
So that’s basically the Internet. You can’t visit Rotten Tomatoes for film reviews. Maybe you only show the critics score. But aren’t they also end users? How about a newspaper? Newspaper has an opinion section. How many opinion writers can you have?
