That’s fine, but there are a ton of non pixel art indie games: Hollow Knight, Spiritfarer, Hades (+ the other games by SuperGiant), Death’s Door, A Hat in Time, Outer Wilds, GRIS, Bramble The Mountain King… I could add at least 10 more great games to this list. But indie games exist in all styles.

Indie games are the way to go. Way less predatory and often better anyways.

For me it was the other way around, I liked the combat in 2 a lot more, because 1 felt way more random. In DOS2, status effects are more predictable, in 1 you can get really lucky or unlucky with status effects hitting or missing, leading to more reloading and “save-scumming” (or maybe we were just bad lol)
