Just your normal everyday casual software dev. Nothing to see here.

Yeah I get that, but the primary one that I use it for has stated that he doesn’t want to have to learn a new platform and that if his Twitter ever died he’s not going to learn another platform. I would rather have updates on a shitty platform then no updates at all. Of course that’s also under the assumption that everybody left the platform as well because me alone leaving wouldn’t do anything
I really thought they got rid of that future, you know after the absolute dumpster fire it’s launch was, like it doesn’t look good when your launch stream is buggy and barely runs
I exclusively use it because content creators I follow are stubborn and won’t leave the platform. I regret every time I’m forced to open it because it’s mostly spam now, but they won’t go elsewhere
The latest Mario games have seemed to been quite meh for me, like out of watching gameplay of them anyway. Legend of Zelda though I’m not a Zelda fan but dang was tears of the Kingdom fun to watch, almost made me break my boycott on their products, thankfully though they’ve issued like three rounds of dmca since which has firmly solidified my decision.
I’ve been the same way with my switch, I haven’t touched it for probably a year and a half outside of a short bit when tears of the Kingdom launched where I replayed some of breath of the wild and a small portion of Animal Crossing, I agree
They had been falling for at least 4 years now, I had already strayed from doing anything on the switch from lack of appeal, but their crackdown on dmca with the yuzu Community was the final straw for me, I didn’t even use the emulator myself but I’ve always heavily embraced emulation and the ability to Tinker with stuff that you purchase and that just didn’t sit right with me.
It was also around that time that I actually read into what happened with Gary Bowser, and that made me sick to my stomach, because it was essentially the equivalent of Prosecuting a cashier for the crimes that the CEO did.
Honestly even if they were still prospering I wouldn’t recommend the products, it’s hard enough to recommend their product to customers in the first place due the platform restrictions and the fact that they just keep regurgitating the three same IP over and over again, and that’s without the active hostilities towards their fanbase
widespread cheating is still a net plus though, worst case scenario they pay less taxes then needed, but any non-zero number would be money that otherwise wouldn’t have been recieved. Actual calculations can be done on audits so if someone sends something in that is drastically different than what you would expect it should be then they can do the actual calculation but for the most part estimates should work fine for that matter.
The way I see it a 5 to 10% variance in what is actually owed isn’t going to mean much in the long run, and if a number is submitted that does raise eyebrows, which would be easy to implement just based off what their annual income(which is already reported) is versus what their reported assets are, a more in-depth calculation can be done
if third party sites can come up with someone’s net worth without access to any tax returns/financial data, I’m sure the US government can do the same. Honestly they could just give a broad estimate and if its wrong have the taxee fight it with the data proving its wrong. The system for this already exists on tax forms. The administrative costs part of the argument seems really weird, it’s not like the US is like most other established governments and gives a bill/check. It requires citizens to calculate their own taxes so they technically don’t even need to do the math outside a simple “does this look right? ah probally” or audits
You can put a different name than what’s yours as the author, but unfortunately if someone is dedicated if you’re writing style is still similar it’s not outside the realm of possibility that someone might be able to connect the dot eventually. Unlikely unless you got super huge, but not impossible
I think the answer is because they don’t believe they need that market, they were obviously okay with losing that market share in the first place due to the fact that they put the requirement in there. As their announcements have said, requiring a PSN account is something that gives them more control over abuse (and ofc data) and allowing more players that are in countries where they are not currently allowed to have those accounts are counterproductive to what they are currently driving for
I’m not surprised they didn’t reverse the region locks they believe it’s something for the best and that’s not something that the consumer is going to be able to change, regardless of the reviews or protest, worst case scenario for them is they just go back to being fully console exclusive if the PR pressure gets too bad
This type of review bombing is actually against steams terms of service for reviews in the first place, they’ve stepped in a few times now to hide campaigns like that, I expect they will do the same with this one. Basically it’ll keep the recent review metric but, it will hide the reviews from the historical and the overall metric. So worst case out of this will be it has a negative recent reviews for awhile.
your last sentence is actually the exact reason they implemented that policy and they moreorless quote it in their forum post where they talk about how the new system works
my sparkle UI didn’t change between it, it just moved everyone else to it, so I’m not sure what happend with yours
My problem with it is how slow is now. It freezes up and I have to close it and reopen it constantly now otherwise I would love it because it makes sense where they moved things for mobile.
Honestly discord is where my friends are at but I would heavily prefer guided or revolt(leaning torwards revolt).
I tried matrix and honestly as my friend group’s primary server administrator/manager it’s moderation/permission system needs severe work for it to be a replacement for me. I feel bad about it cause it is a nice service, I love the bridge capability and everyone here hard pushes it but, I couldn’t use it in it’s current state.
edit: also just noticing that this post is months old, not sure how I came across it!
Xtra was one of them I used to use, but they have a bunch of different ad blocks that do it too now. Multistream services do it as well
not for YouTube but there is for twitch yea
let’s be real, the genocide would have continued regardless of the attack, this fued has been going for years this attack is a drop in the bucket really. It’s only going to be used an an excuse for international support at this point but, eventually I expect international support will waiver
yeaaa 3 days later that post is still there lol, think at this point it ain’t poofing
I usually ignore video only posts, but the cover art actually caught my eye, this is one of the few times I actually watched the video and that game looks absolutely sick. Instantly wishlisted to keep tabs on it
I’m not sure of the complaint, is the tag not accurate? If you use AI to make something are you not making it with ai? Like if I use strawberry to make a cake would the tag made with strawberries be inaccurate?
Like I failed to see the argument, if you don’t want to be labeled as something accurate don’t use it otherwise deal with it.
