D4 really isn’t that different from current D3. In some areas it’s actually better. But of course both of those suck compared to D2 or PoD.

But that doesn’t happen, and that’s how they have us all by the balls.
Well that’s very easy when one party openly is working to destroy the whole democratic system.

There’s more than two parties to choose from.
Technically true, but there is no real choice. The US doesn’t have a proportional voting system but uses first past the post voting. This by default will result in a two party system. If one party splits up or loses voter to a third party, the remaining party will utterly dominate the politics until one of the other party comes up on top again.
Sane countries do have a proportional voting system which allows several parties to flourish.
Well it matters when it comes to replacing ageing programmers with very few options available. It’s definitely not something taught in schools today, so one has to be very deliberately learn it.
Don’t get me wrong, you can make a lot of money in such a position. But you also have to deal with COBOL.
Sure, but how likely is this in this specific scenario. We’re talking about a system that’s not even directly controlling the train but just a display on it. The worst that can happen is that those displays won’t work until the system is reinstalled. That’s hardly a lucrative target for modern hackers. There’s way easier target which are worth something.
Well yes. You can code software remotely. That doesn’t mean the end system is reachable through the network. Given it’s DB, I bet these systems are still patched by floppy. Until very recently they’ve used floppy’s to distribute train schedules to be displayed in the train.
Frankly that’s nothing. In the worst case a train won’t start, which for DB really isn’t something unusual. It’s far more disturbing how the whole global financial market sometimes rely on code that’s still written in COBOL.
I certainly won’t trust Musk even as far as I can throw him with such stuff.
I suspect that he doesn’t read dyspotic science fiction novels as cautionary tale but as an instruction booklet.
Exactly and frankly it’s only right to point out this cultural heritage even if obviously Ukraine doesn’t want to conquer these territories. Especially since Russia actively tries to rewrite cultural history about it. And that’s by no means limited to people with Ukrainian roots in Russia but they actively rewrite Russian history to discredit dozens of cultural minorities. Very similar to China’s ongoing “project” to make China as “Han Chinese” as possible.
Luckily Norwegians do understand and respect their justice system better than people like you and don’t want to introduce such a shitty tool of vengeance just for one guy. Especially since that very fucker wanted Norway to get a much harsher justice system in the first place. Them granting him the same rights every other prisoner in Norway has, is winning against his ideology of hatred.
And the success of their justice system, especially when compared to countries who use death penalty and other punitive measures such as state sanctioned rape, speaks for itself. Many countries could learn a lot from Norway.
Thanks for that comment. Way to many people hearing this would want Norway to change their justice system to the worse to make the life of one horrible person worse. Luckily Norwegians do understand how good their system is and don’t want to destroy it for such petty reasons like vengeance.
Well duh. What did you think would happen? That they start loving Israel?
You can’t beat people to stop hating you.
Increasingly more often in the last year or two. Makes social media use for me a lot more pleasant. But sometime I still can’t resist.
I have just recently bought a FP5 as well and I wouldn’t trust myself without it. Without a case it’s pretty slippery. And just because it’s easy to repair the screen doesn’t mean I risk it getting broken more than necessary. So the 34 Euro I paid definitely was worth it. Especially considering it’s made out of recycled material.
I feared that the fingerprint reader would be hard to reach with it, but luckily it works pretty well. A slight touch is enough to unlock it.
Wanna bet that they will somehow combine this with 5G conspiracies?
“It’s all just a wave after all!!!” /s
More or less safe. Predators often camp these choke points for obvious reasons.
The pop up may have been triggered by a technical glitch before they wanted it to. But the whole feature of course was not only developed but implemented into the live version of the game.
Prisoners are found guilty of a crime by a court system and then safely put away, since they have still rights.
Yeah about that …
“In administrative detention, a person is held without trial without having committed an offense, on the grounds that he or she plans to break the law in the future. As this measure is supposed to be preventive, it has no time limit. The person is detained without legal proceedings, by order of the regional military commander, based on classified evidence that is not revealed to them. This leaves the detainees helpless – facing unknown allegations with no way to disprove them, not knowing when they will be released, and without being charged, tried or convicted.”
And considering that veterans are over represented in the homeless population, they actively hurt those who have served the country instead of helping them. Shameful!
