I figured zionism had to do with an ideology, not a profession. Generalisations like these are not helping.

Yup, that’s it.
I just told you I I’m not sure of the definition, so asking me what I think it means is pointless. Though I’m pretty sure it’s not a group you can join like ISIS, right?
I’m still not sure what it means, judging by the comments here it (murderer / terrorist etc) it does seem to be used as a slur. So yeah, using the definition instead would be useful.
Yeah, I don’t think they would have been fired if they had just held a vigil without shitting all over their employers brands.
It’s easy to nitpick all the details in the video, but keep in mind that 2 years ago generative AI videos consisted mostly of shape shifting mosaics that vaguely resembled the things they were supposed to be. And now we’re down to “in this frame the 10x10 pixel airplane has a third wing”.
That doesn’t excuse the use of copyrighted material to get to this point, mind you. But to claim that this tech is going nowhere is just a contextless circlejerk.
It’s one thing to claim that the current machine learning approach won’t lead to AGI, which I can get behind. But this article claims AGI is impossible simply because there are not enough physical resources in the world? That’s a stretch.
I’m not being facetious though. Off-site backups of a digital password collection are easy to setup and maintain. But when you change your password or add a new entry, it’s going to be a pain in the ass to have to drive over and update a physical copy.
If you can live with those downsides, that’s fine. But in my opinion it would be facetious to pretend a physical backup is “just as good/usable” as a digital one.
-edit: whoops, misread that as implying that I was being facetious. As you were sir -
If getting a Dropbox account is too difficult for them, I seriously wonder why they’d be subscribed here, or reading articles about password management in browsers.
If you never, ever need your passwords outside of your home, that’s great advice - it’s as secure as can be against digital theft. Less so against fire though, and backups are out of the question.
I guess now is as good a time as any for them to start using a proper password manager.
Personally, I recommend Keepass - it has multiple clients for all platforms, and you can keep the file in sync with a program of your own choosing, like Dropbox, syncthing or whatever you like.
Like, duh. That’s Dehumanising 101. It’s like they weren’t even paying attention.
You just need to able to get there instantly, and after that, the ability to tread water for a long, long time.
Such a lovely post, a nice distraction from all the doom scrolling articles! I wish we had more of this.
…
I should write a happy news moderator bot for my instance.
Sure, some of those links are different. But you have to admit, even if you are interested in this story, 5 times is a bit excessive.
Since you asked, here are the other four times it was posted.
There was a fifth one, but that one has since been removed.
How many times is this going to be posted? I’ve seen this several times now over the past few days.
Right now, sure. But remember that 10 years ago, neural net generated images were putting eyes everywhere, and wouldn’t create anything close to a believable photo. I wouldn’t be surprised if 10 years from now, video’s will have made a similar leap.
On the other hand, I do hope that between now and then, some laws will have been put in place to only train on ethically sourced datasets - which will slow down progress, but is more fair to the creators.
In a similar vain, I tried out a garmin smartwatch for a while, and at some point it warned me I was getting stressed.
I wasn’t though - I was excited about a project that I had been working on coming together. But apparently the watch could only think in negative moods.
For that, and other privacy and usability based reasons, I decided to return it and go back to my non-heart-rating Pebble Time Steel.
Meanwhile, nobody has attempted to give a definition. Lots of downvotes all around though. 🤷🏼♀️
