“Fuck that particular con, I have a president in my pocket now.”
At least they can finally admit that they are not a car company.
Well, finally. There are still so many unused seconds in a day where the consumer cattle is not forcibly blasted with advertisements, it brings tears to the eyes…
Because it’s too expensive to crunch up a whole iPhone just for one cone.
Trump sues mirror for making him look ugly.
Every. Single. Time.
Looking at the TP with my functional eyes? I am skeptical.
I’m sick of these private corporations fucking over all of us repeatedly and NOTHING being done.
You misunderstand the role distribution. The American people are not the ones who are being protected from the big companies in the country.
They are the prey being offered to the big companies.
The companies have won. They are paying the legislation to provide a buffet of easily exploitable, squeezable unprotected victims. Depending on whether you need medical procedures, an education, or are just unlucky enough to be chosen to become labour in the private prison complex due to being the wrong colour, the companies are just waiting for you to fall into their respective web, at which point they own you, suck you dry and leave you to bankruptcy or worse.
Any first-person-shooter is technically a point and click game.
Mention the concept of a daily stand-up pledge of allegiance in schools in any other democracy and get laughed at.
I bet astronauts are great at showering.
have you ever had a shower in under two minutes and washed your whole body?
Yes. My first thought was whether there may be a “best practice” way of showering efficiently and which professions may have suggestions on that (either jobs that are very time-constrained or jobs that are tight on resources?) and whether there were more effective ways of catching the water than a bucket (maybe some elaborate tarp placement? probably not feasible. the ultimate tarp placement would be one just around the body like one of the shields in star trek or star wars. maybe one of those bubble soccer balls upside down filled with water and one showerer? rolling down a hill in a plastic hamster ball full of water would be fun. also terrifying and basically dynamic waterboarding, but fun) and that was when the two minutes ended.
Are you limited to either having a thought or moving your body at any given time? I hope you don’t drive cars or perform other activities that require more than zero thoughts at once.
“Well, you can’t prevent all assaults in the world, so why shouldn’t I punch you in the face now?” is a rather defeatist point of view.
Won’t SOMEBODY think of the poor, poor monopolists who so far made their money exploiting the alternativeless victims at their mercy? Why would their prey give them way too much money now, eh? Socialism! Terrorism! All the bad words, what’s in right now? Woke? DEI?
Google: “You wanted words? Here are some words!”
Oh, they’d never do anything as sinister as that. That may still be illegal (if the ultra-rich lobbying hasn’t taken care of that obstacle by that point).
Instead, they’ll just make sure that whatever essential core service they’ve built a monopoly in by just muscling the poorer competitors out of the race will cease to be offered to you if you refuse to hand all your money over to them.
See also: insulin, hospital treatment, etc. This is just a new playing field to find old prey in.
Sure, the possibilities are endless, so the first thing we’ll get that has any research money and effort put into it is how to turn it into an advertising platform and then maximally enshittifying it as soon as there’s a market share to speak of.
But EA clearly know how to rake in money with the yearly version of SportsGame
2021202220232024. They are expected to make just as much cash by releasing the exact same movie every year. Who knows, maybe they’ll add microtransactions.
