True, but even through Steam, you’re still dealing with Ubi’s launcher and Denuvo, so it’s just adding another layer on top.
I wanted to play this, but not enough to interact with their launcher and Denuvo.

Hell yeah. I went with Kubuntu because I figured it would be easy for a beginner to troubleshoot eventual issues, given the amount of asked-and-answered Ubuntu queries online.
If you’re coming from Windows, something that runs KDE Plasma will feel very familiar.
Seems like everybody forgot about the HD release. It was good, and the only reason I haven’t played it a third time is because I don’t want to set up the console for it. Hopefully this new version won’t be too bogged down with Ubisoft crap 🤞
Their anti-cheat implementation could definitely use some work. Either that, or just give players the option to disable chromatic aberration, use ultrawide etc. I played the entire game offline, with the exception of a few specific spots. Sucks.
Appreciate it. I actually found that out earlier today, and I gave it a shot. Tried it for a bit and uninstalled it, but I now know for sure that I would pay $10-15 for it, and no more.
I have not, no. I don’t typically open the store page unless I have a specific goal in mind, in which case I do my business directly, and then leave the page.
Without being able to try a demo, that price is more than I’m willing to pay for this, yes.
Not paying much attention to early access titles didn’t pay off here. I was unaware of the game until today, and would like to play it, but the dealbreaker is the price; I would pay what they were charging during early access, but not the current price. Guess I’m waiting for a sale, though that means I’ll very likely just forget it exists again.
There usually aren’t many complaints of something being woke if the product is actually good. I think the main takeaway is that nobody wants to be lectured, and told they are wrong for having a different opinion, and amateurish writing can easily come across as preachy or being a self-insert.
