This is going a bit too far now, imho.
An example that I encountered myself today:
Google:
Unfiltered search engine (in this case Yandex):
Like, WTF Google!
Edit: Woops, did I reopen an 18d-old thread? 😅
“I left my wallet at home.” 😅
Yes, I would like to know this too…
…for a friend… 😅
Meanwhile I freeze my PC for 5 minutes cause I tried to move notepad 2cm to the right…
Your comment just reminded me of an old Microsoft screensaver just displaying random real BSOD’s of Windows versions. Need to find that one again. Edit: Already did, it’s by SysInternals so no virus (as screensavers are a big possible security hole). Glad it still exists. 😜
Also always fun to set up in a friend’s (who ideally has no screensaver set up) computer as a harmless prank too. 😅😂
I used to love the interactive ones where it really gives the impression for yourself too that you’re hacking, so if it’s complicated and fake-functional enough it might be something.
Dunno why anyone would want to downvote this, but here’s back up to 1. 😜
People tend to forget that governments are also just another company where you are its employee. It will make business-deals with other companies for (you guessed it) money…
Optional is always a good thing. 😅
So it only added a base functionality that others already had at least 4 months late? 😅 They should call it Mastodon Explorer. 😅
Huh, admittedly I’ve only been on Mastodon since Juli, but I remember always having had the Lists function, or at least since I joined anyway… I’ve been classifying certain topics in Lists together for a while now, while they all stay in my home screen… I really hope the update isn’t that it now removes them from home to “declutter” the only tab that gathers everything you follow for bored scrolling? That would be terrible…
Now I just want to try anti-cocaine. 😅
Wait, people are using a voice-chatbot to voice-chat with? Interesting…
In my defense, I was pretty drunk when I commented this…
Don’t drink and Lemmy… 😅
No, I read the headline and skimmed the article. 😅
Pretty sure that if you get to see a lot of “Violent Content” on your Facebook, you’re either following the wrong groups or have wrong friends who you chose to allow to (or you’re specifically looking it up 😅). If there’s anything Facebook is good at, it’s at keeping people cosy in their selective information bubble. I myself have maybe had 5 posts that actually had shocking content I rather not had seen in the 14 years I was on Facebook, and I think most of them by the same 1 person that I eventually asked to exclude me if they post stuff alike… 😅
Not gonna argue that visual shock trauma isn’t a thing, it surely is! (I have sadly collected a small (mind-)museum of those in my lifetime myself.) Nor am I gonna claim Facebook “isn’t that bad”, it definitely is too! But this just has moneyfishing written all over it.
👴🏼 Oh, well,… Back in my day, when we saw something that would scar us for life, we’d immediately call as many friends possible to come look at it too… 👴🏼 😅
Sooo, if they charge it in the store you’re not gonna take it home and unbox it?.. The order of doing those doesn’t change the time they take… 😅
That would maybe solve it if you have 5 phones in your store, but I really don’t want to be the person that has to “go charge and update the iphones in storage again” if they store hundreds of phones and each needs to be placed on a charging station for an unknown amount of time “until it beeps” one by one… 😅
The stationproblem you mention however is easily fixed by making it diagonally with a fitting edge the box perfectly fits in, so you can just slide in the box and gravity + edge puts it in the right spot. Add a big sticker for employees that states which direction and done. 😅
So they’re going to update the entire stock one by one without charging it every update? The only other way is to only do it one time when the phone is bought. Which will take the same amount of time in the store… 🤷♂️
I’m assuming they just do it to the latest when you buy them, cause if you do it too many times it will eventually have died in the box. 😅 If do, you wait the same amount of time in the store but without the satisfaction of seeing it update, and if they do them regularly it’ll have the possibility to be 0% battery and not be able to update in the box anymore (which would also be bad for the battery)… 😅
