i’d argue its better for software to max foss license like AGPL, not bsd that can be taken out by companies

Yeah I’m not for UBI that much, and don’t see anyone working towards global VAT. I was comparing that worry about AI that is gonna destroy humanity is not possible, it’s just scifi.

It replaced content writers, replacing digital artists, replacing programmers. In a sense they fire unexeprieced ones because ai speeds up those with more experience.

Fair point, but AI is part of it, I mean it exists in capitalist system. This AI Singularity apocalypse is like not gonna happen in 99%, AI within capitalism will affect us badly.

Ah, AI doesn’t pose as danger in that way. It’s danger is in replacing jobs, people getting fired bc of ai, etc.

Just to clarify, this post is not meant to glorify startups! Startups also have CEO and it’s same as first line in the meme.

This post is meant to start a discussion and to highlight the effects big tech having on FOSS.

It’s aginst big tech not aginst FOSS!

I actually like FOSS alot, I don’t want big tech taking it over and dictating how things should be done.

I don’t want FOSS helping out google, meta, microsoft etc. FOSS is meant for society and people not for companies to make more profit and in process of that destroying society and exploiting people.

EDIT: Just to add, I’m aginst using term open source which is taken over by comapnies and companies use it to wash themself.

It’s not saying FOSS is a confused mess, but that big tech exploits foss! And yes FOSS can and is making progress without big thech. But big tech is big investor in foss which means it’s controlling it and striving to controll it, for example threads and mastodon.

No company will invest money for anything that is not helping their cause. FOSS isn’t untouchable to be exempted from critique.
