Any of Satoshi Kon’s works (Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, etc). IMO, he’s one of the few animation directors who really takes advantage of everything animation has to offer.

Qwant isn’t available in a lot of countries though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qwant
I have a few professors who have wikipedia pages if that counts.
Good work-life balance.
Political campaign ads. Not a product so it might be different. I remember watching one that took advantage of homeless people and it made my stomach hurt.
Nobody mentioned Tridactyl yet so… Tridactyl. It’s the best vim keybindings extension for Firefox I’ve tried.
RimWorld. It’s so fun watching your colonists at work, peacefully farming, and suddenly one of them gets hit by a chunk of steel followed by a hundred bear raid.
Very relaxing.
YouTube. Content-wise, there isn’t a better platform for videos. Except maybe Vimeo for indie films.
Usually just browse the web on my phone or answer messages and emails.
I watched it pretty recently and even watched it twice in a single day. I still think it’s a great film in terms of narrative and cinematography. The dialogue and editing (especially the baptism sequence) were also very effective.
I wouldn’t trust any claim that “X movie is the greatest of all time” however. Movies are highly subjective and I wouldn’t trust IMDb’s top list to decide what movies are great. Most of their top movies are from Hollywood.
If you didn’t like The Godfather, then that’s actually okay. I know other people who didn’t like it.
edit: By the way, if you’re looking for another good Marlon Brando movie, check out Queimada. I think a lot of people here on Lemmy might like this film.
One tool that I liked from Reddit was manually approving posts from accounts under a certain age or karma threshold. I hope we can get tools like that one day.
Video hosting is very expensive. Not only does it consume so much disk space, it’s difficult to transcode these videos. It needs a lot of CPU power or a capable iGPU/GPU which most instances probably don’t have. I would love to have short videos on Lemmy but I’m hoping there are lots of available encoding options in place so we can fine tune it to fit our hardware.
For now, I think a good solution is video embedding and a better “player” for the front end. I’ve tried a few apps and I can watch videos from catbox.moe seamlessly with them.
My favorite always changes. Right now, it’s Hideaki Anno’s The End of Evangelion.
I also really like Chris Marker’s Sans Soleil and Ishmael Bernal’s Himala.
There’s a PR for it. Hopefully we get it on the next update.
I know repost bots help “fill in” the lack of user activity for some communities but it ends up feeling empty anyway. I think posts (and reposts) should be curated (in a sense) by users. Bots should assist users in creating content, not creating content themselves.
I was getting posts that are months old when I sorted by Hot. They fixed it and now posts are actually “Hot”.
edit: If you’re asking how they fixed it, check this issue.
I believe that’s something only admins can set for the entire instance.
Surprisingly a good writeup that details most of the features of both platforms while being forgiving of their flaws.
None. YouTube is still the best for uploading anything and being able to monetize it with ads.
Maybe consider selling it as stock footage?
