I haven’t used the ai denoiser but the noise reduction in Darktable seems decent to me, has lot’s of options. I am pretty new to raw image manipulation so maybe I’m missing something I don’t know about but it seems fine?

Darktable is one of the foss apps that actually is almost as good as the Adobe app. In many ways I like it better. https://www.darktable.org/
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguish in 1998, Bill Gates stated: “One thing we have got to change in our strategy – allowing Office documents to be rendered very well by other people’s browsers is one of the most destructive things we could do to the company. We have to stop putting any effort into this and make sure that Office documents very well depends on PROPRIETARY IE capabilities. Anything else is suicide for our platform. This is a case where Office has to avoid doing something to destory [sic] Windows.”
Not just Gates, but all higher ups at Microsoft think this way. It’s kind of naive to think Xbox would be different IMHO.
Microsoft has always been more than happy to make the market smaller by buying the competition and discontinuing their products shortly after. For some reason people didn’t think Xbox would do the same?
I had MRSA once, it’s so easy to spread and there is zero doubt in my mind that it could be weaponized. Criminal investigations are necessary after TWO whistleblowers are offed. I’m not holding my breath though. Boeing is too entrenched in the MIP to be investigated in any real sense of the word.
Absolutely disgusting. The perpetrators should be in solitary confinement for abusing some of the most vulnerable members of society.
As you should. The obviously don’t have any loyalty to their customers, don’t give them any back.
I’ll second this, stupid good battery life but a fairly simple watch. Doesn’t do apps but it does health tracking and notifications and it’s pretty good at looking like a watch instead of a toy.
Let’s break up both of their monopolies!
Both of these companies played dirty to get on top, both hide money in tax havens. They both stiffle innovation.
I love the idea of gog but they need to invest in their own store. They need to make a client that’s worth a damn, or make the website work better, or both. I routinely forget that gog exists, if I had a client on my computer with a store that worked I would probably give them more money. Getting old games from gog working on Linux is usually fine but new releases are often a shit show. Lack of steam deck support really kills my willingness to buy from them. I will never enjoy downloading X amounts of 4gb files to run a game, just use a better protocol like BitTorrent or something. I don’t think it’s fair to consumers that the best gog clients are 3rd party, unsupported and receive zero funding from CPR for making gog a usable platform.
I don’t like monopolies, but it’s hard to argue that any other service offers the same value to the end user.
I cannot think of anything more French than this.
There were some legit games for symbian
I somehow played Mario is missing on dos and SNES when I was a kid.
Your parents sound more like gen x to me, but there are blurred lines between all the generations.
Your comments about tech understanding is almost completely opposite to most other comments, which is my main reason for thinking that. But I know plenty of millennials that are shit with tech too.
My experience in IT is that most of gen z doesn’t care about understanding anything on the Internet outside of social media, and they do excel at social media compared to others but I see fewer and fewer young people interested in how any of it works. They seem to be completely content with consuming media but even most of the big game streamers are millennials it seems like. Gen z seems completely ok with walled gardens and black box services as long as they ‘work’ .
Yeah, I feel the same about Firefox OS, Ubuntu mobile, Web OS, and Meego. I wish we had a third option at least, that was a little more viable for people that have a handful of apps for widgets and stuff. At this point I think that any real contender is going to have to bake android compatibility in to hope to make a dent in the market at all. Too many normal people expect to be able to use their phone to control some gadgets they have bought, smart stuff and iot gear. Without rewriting all the various apps to control those gadgets people are going to be hesitant to try anything else going forward IMHO.
I ran sailfish on my 1+1 back in the day for a while. It was a nice OS but the app ecosystem was just horrible and their android compatibility just never worked right for me.
I have over 200 hours in cyberpunk on Linux. The gog version is a little bit more work to setup the steam version. If you have it on steam, and have steam installed natively (not inside wine) it should work assuming you have the correct GPU drivers installed.
I’ve always had weird, buggy shit with Nvidias Linux drivers. AMD is pretty great though.
You could try an open source game like xonotic that supports Linux to test as well.
My problem is people saying Linux isn’t ready because Nvidia provides a terrible experience, and they are basing that opinion on their personal experience with Nvidias gpu drivers. Using any other gpu provides an experience so close to the deck that it’s not even a talking point.
No OS is perfect, Linux has problems, but Nvidia makes people think it’s a mess.
My company shoots for 5 year life on desktops, 3 on laptops. At that mark we evaluate if the machine is still supported and doing the job it needs to do.
If either of those things are not true then we replace the unit.
Smaller companies that I have worked for tried to stretch most hardware to double that, but it was always a bad idea imo.
LMFAO
