I would be interested in hearing more, but I’m sure you understand why a better source would be a necessity.

Schwip Schwap is my favorite. Mountain Dew is also quite nice when I can find it.
I really appreciate your super stark pro libre software attitude. I want to support you here. You should know that the approach you are taking is ultra abrasive and would probably cause more harm than help.
People would just associate libre software with militant weirdos, if all they saw where your posts.
If you want to make meaningful change I strongly recommend taking a softer less abrasive approach.
We want libre software to be connected with safety, friendliness and personal autonomy, not militarism, chanted phrases, and dogma.
Even on Lemmy the ultra pro libre software social network (relative to non federated networks) your current approach is off putting. I want you to succeed and I think a different approach may be better.
Just my two cents.
Fair. And I see it lol. My inbox is full of people who want to argue with me.
True. But for 99% of people baseline is what they use. Windows can be made very secure by experts but the fact is 99% of people just use windows as is.
You are preaching to the choir.
When it comes to privacy: GrapheneOS > iOS > android with Google.
Android itself is good. It’s just android with Google that’s the problem. (Aka 99.999% of all android phones sold outside of China)
Compared to any android phone the privacy is substantially better. Apple is in the business of selling overpriced phones. Google is in the data collection business.
I mean more money would solve the IP issue.
Step 1: Get more money Step 2: Buy additional dedicated IPs for the casino Step 3: Profit from the profits of a casino.
It does not matter if it lumps them together or not. Google still has 90% and they’re not Bing. Yandax another ~3% and they’re not Bing. That means at max Bing is 7% if you combine the rest. 3.5% vs 7% does not change the root of my argument.
Those points you make against Brave are valid though. I just run into too many people who are in the Brave cult and it’s concerning.
Lumping in Bing with Google is just unfair. Google controls like 90% of search. Bing is ~3.5%. Choosing duck duck go and helping that 3.5% is wayyyy better of a choice than supporting crypto bros.
Brave search is run by crypto bros. I’d rather use Kagi or DDG or even Google.
The NYT definitely has problems, but saying it has the same credibility as the Enquirer just makes you look ill informed. 🤡

No. You need to be able to log in, in order to use the service.
i am not commenting on the source. Just pointing out a strange pattern of behavior that I think should be noted. If look around on Lemmy you will see certain accounts that are weirdly into very specific sites.
If you look at the original posters account history you will see the same “very into a specific site” pattern.

People can look at your post history and judge for themselves.
The poster who submitted this has some sort of pro South China Morning Post (SCMP) agenda. So this post is likely some sort of attempt to normalize that newspaper.
I personally want Russia to lose their imperialist war and I want Trump to lose his election, but even with my biases this article is a huge stretch.
State run is not the same as state influenced. You can’t honestly say they are equivalently influenced.
Also I will restate you posted a literal Facebook post. If you had a better source I know you would rather use that.
