The best thing about this gen so far is the rise of handheld PCs, like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. I mostly play on the Deck nowadays, while the PS5 gathers dust.

They also pulled a really cool hack on Jak and Dexter. They were able to hack into the PS1 chip hidden away in the PS2 for backwards compatibility to get some extra processing power!
Exactly! This is more about the social aspect of these games. Kids are playing Fortnite/Roblox/Minecraft because that’s where their friends are hanging out after school.

Unfortunately, that’s a common thing in the gaming industry. Another example are the PS1 Final Fantasy games, they are stuck with those low res backgrounds and FMVs because Square Enix lost the original assets.
For me, it’s being able to sleep and wake the device with games still running without worrying about a crash or running out of battery because Microsoft broke sleep on W11
