Dude is literally a science-denying antivaxxer who had actual brain worms. If anyone is braindead it’s RFK.

Exactly. Intelligence is knowing what the right words are. Wisdom is knowing what words to use to get your point across to people who aren’t as intelligent as you.
It’s because we have brains and can read further than the headline 🤷🏻♀️
Not a fire performer, but an aerialist - I love circus arts but some people just should not do it. Not because they suck, or they’ve got the “wrong body” or whatever other bs, but just because they completely eschew anything safety related.
The number of people who assume they can just pop a hookup in their drywall ceiling, maybe checking for a joist first, and then hang a lyra from it and try to do drops or high speed spins on it is staggering. Or, like, hanging silks from a random tree branch. Or doing anything more than 3-4 feet in the air without a crash mat under them. Or trying to teach themselves from fucking tiktok videos. Please, please just stop. You’re going to hurt yourself, and in the process you’re also going to make everyone else’s insurance rates skyrocket. Hate it so much.
Ah, everyone’s favorite game: is this person playing Krieg IG because they like the aesthetic, or because they "like the aesthetic"?
I am just, constantly in awe of how toxic the fiber arts community can be
Like friends
We are making lovely comfort items, random decor, stuffies and just like, silly shit WHY ARE YOU SCREECHING AT ONE ANOTHER
Hence me going to exactly 1 stitch n bitch ever and then quietly doing crochet in my house forever more
I have been eagerly watching this since it was first reported on in September. I will literally throw myself at the researchers to be a test subject for RA when they get to it. Cannot fucking wait.
Shitty cereal is my weakness, but even then you can fit it into an otherwise healthy diet as a treat every now and then. I just buy the tiny box once a month and only have a few bowls. Working on a box of fruity pebbles right now, lol.
Agreed, dashi ramen is the way to go if you’re doing it at home. Still tasty and way easier.
I dunno, I feel like it’s mostly just people being people. We have a truck and a sporty little hatchback and people are just as apt to drive like assholes around both cars, despite my husband and I both also being the “drive just enough above the speed limit that we probably won’t get a ticket” drivers, and otherwise adhering almost exactly to road laws the way only mildly obsessive neurodivergents can. I think people either just don’t know road laws or don’t care about them and get pissed when other people do and “impede” their oh-so-important trip.
Depends on the consistency (and temperature pre-baking) of the dough, some are made to hold their shape rather than expand/flatten in the oven.
Are you making the joke I think you’re making, or am I just exposing myself for the dirty heathen I am?
Because I can’t get my husband to take his shoes off right when he comes inside after 13 years together, so I’ve given up and just started wearing shoes inside myself 🤷🏻♀️
Wow, that’s so much better than fire and brimstone. Still not enough to make me believe in anything, but I can at least understand why a kind and rational person would be ok believing this, vs the eternal hellfire punishment crap.
I think a lot of people didn’t like where Amy Lee took Evanescence after the split with Ben Moody, but I feel like The Open Door is a better album than Fallen overall. It may be less hard rock, but it’s more interesting and really showcases her writing talent, while Ben just wanted to be a pop hard rock group without exploring other musical elements (as showcased with his lackluster project We Are the Fallen, which was just Evanescence Light with a less powerful female vocalist).
I know a lot of people didn’t like it because it was a departure from their earlier style but I honestly think A Thousand Suns was their peak. I don’t even like all the songs on it, but each one was so obviously crafted with care and intent, and you could tell they were really all-in on it. I think the exploration of their talents through a post-apocalyptic concept album really challenged and brought out the best in them.
I miss Chester still :(
The Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Bruhhhhhhhh
White Album? Abbey Road? I mean, even if you aren’t a big fan of Yellow Submarine or Magical Mystery Tour, how can you say freaking Abbey Road is a comedown from Sgt Pepper’s?
Aerial arts - silks, trapeze, flying pole, lyra, straps, custom apparatus like cubes/chairs etc. Anything about doing artistic acrobatics on a piece of metal/fabric/other suspended in the air. The community on reddit was the perfect size but pretty much none of them came over to lemmy.
They got worse recently, too, at least locally. You can’t even turn off the insistent voice anymore, so now I have to hear it repeat “please scan your next item and place it in the bag” a dozen times, usually cut off because it takes longer for the damn machine to say that than it does for me to actually scan shit. And now they’ve added cameras which get easily confused if you, like me, usually just hold your few items in your hands while you’re scanning, thinking you’re trying to “dupe” the scanner.
I mean, how about my boring example from work the other day? I wanted to double check whether priority mail had guaranteed delivery timeframes before telling a customer that they did not and if she needed something by a specific day she should use UPS. When I searched “is priority mail delivery date guaranteed”, the first real answer, from USPS’s website, was a resounding no, just like I thought. Guess what Google’s AI told me? “Priority mail is a guaranteed service, so you can choose it knowing that your package will be delivered on the projected date.”
It’s fucking stupid. It’s wrong. It should not be at the top of search results.
