I left Reddit much too late. I guess some habits can be hard to break. Then I spent some time on kbin/mbin/fedia, and I’ll be staying here.
Btw I’m a non-binary trans person [they/she/he].
It could be true that she broke the law.
Breaking the law on this topic is not hard in France, since unfortunately it is part of the (post)colonial countries that equate anti-zionism with antisemitism.
So criticizing the settler colonial state of Israel can mean you break the law, without taking into consideration that Zionism is a political movement that has been criticized by Jews since its inception. Jewish voice for Peace have a great article about it: Our Approach to Zionism. And they are not the only ones.
Or supporting that Palestinians have human rights like any other person on this planet - like to be against Israel’s apartheid for example - is considered terrorism, more often than not.
Please, let’s not be so quick to defend France or any colonial country

Ban Apartheid Israel from Sports
Palestinian players and athletes are routinely attacked, imprisoned and killed. Athletes are denied freedom of movement to attend their own matches, competitions and trainings. Palestinian stadiums and sports infrastructures have been bombed and destroyed. Israel even prevents sports equipment from being imported and sports facilities from being developed.
Racism against Palestinians is institutionalized in Israeli sports – from segregated youth football leagues to anti-Palestinian hate from fan clubs that goes routinely unpunished.
In addition, Israeli football and basketball clubs based in illegal settlements are allowed to compete in official Israeli leagues, making international governing bodies FIFA and FIBA complicit in Israel’s violations of international law.
Despite all this, Western dominated sports bodies have looked the other way, refusing to take action. More than 300 Palestinian sports clubs and dozens of civil society organizations are calling to #BanIsrael from the Olympics. Join us as we seek to ban Israel from international sports forums, including the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and FIFA, until it ends its grave crimes against Palestinians and its attacks on Palestinian sports.
I suppose a more accurate title would be:
“IDF unsuccessfully tries to distance itself from ‘no return’ remarks about north Gaza evacuees”
Please do keep in mind that Zionists and Jews are not synonyms. Jews have been opposing Zionism since its inception and keep doing so in large numbers. See also:
Our Approach to Zionism - JVP - Jewish Voice for Peace
Jewish Voice for Peace is guided by a vision of justice, equality and freedom for all people. We unequivocally oppose Zionism because it is counter to those ideals.
May I add that these notes where provided to the NYT by the Israeli military?
Minutes of Hamas’s secret meetings, seized by the Israeli military and obtained by The New York Times,
So after all the debunked fabricated lies that Israel has spread thanks to the press during the last 12 months, are we supposed to take what the IDF gives in good faith?
U.S. Aid to Israel in Four Charts || Council on Foreign Relations || 31 Mai 2024
Israel has been the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign aid since its founding, receiving about $310 billion (adjusted for inflation) in total economic and military assistance.
I would argue that Zionists started killing children in 1947.

Israel’s siege now blocks 83% of food aid reaching Gaza, new data reveals
New data has revealed the scale of aid obstruction, and the consequential drastic fall in aid entering Gaza. This is driving a humanitarian disaster, with the entire population of Gaza facing hunger and disease, and almost half a million at risk of starvation.
Data analysis by organisations working in Gaza has found that as a consequence of the Israeli government’s obstruction of aid:
- 83% of required food aid does not make it into Gaza, up from 34% in 2023.This reduction means people in Gaza have gone from having an average of two meals a day to just one meal every other day. An estimated 50,000 children aged between 6-59 months urgently require treatment for malnutrition by the end of the year.
- 65% of the insulin required and half of the required blood supply are not available in Gaza.
- Availability of hygiene items has dropped to 15% of the amount available in September 2023. One million women are now going without the hygiene supplies they need.
- Only around 1,500 hospital beds in Gaza remain operational, compared to around 3,500 beds in 2023 which was already well below sufficient to meet the needs of a population of more than 2 million people. By comparison, cities of similar size, such as Chicago and Paris average 5 to 8 times more beds than in Gaza.
- 1.87 million people are in need of shelter with at least 60% of homes destroyed or damaged (January 2024). Yet tents for around just 25,000 people have entered Gaza since May 2024.
The IDF targets hospitals because they WANT to target hospitals.
They even gave a name to it:
Explainer: The Dahiya Doctrine & Israel’s Use of Disproportionate Force
The Dahiya Doctrine is an Israeli military doctrine that calls for the use of massive, disproportionate force and the deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure.
I think that if the democrats win this election there is a decent chance the US could start slowly pulling support.
Why do you think that? Did I miss something perhaps? I haven’t seen a hint from democrats during the past year up to now to support this claim. On the contrary, they actively send Israel tones of bombs and money to genocide Palestinians, and no matter what “red lines” the Biden administration puts on the matter, soon after they forget about them. And Harris (if I remember correctly) she said she will continue the same policy.
His take is spot on. It’s totally worth watching and thanks for sharing.
Is this news or commentary?
It’s news.
This article highlights some of the contradictions of the US, between what is said and what is done in relation to the two-state solution. The author including some personal comments does not change its core, which is informative of the current situation.
One biblical verse bans tattoos, but the full story of Christianity’s relationship with body modification is more complicated.
TIL
the Ronald Reagan administration banned transfers of cluster munitions to Israel for several years in the 1980s after it determined that Israel had used them on civilian targets during its invasion of Lebanon.
Gallant’s visit came as Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, repeated his claim that the Biden administration was presiding over a “dramatic drop” in arms shipments to Israel in recent months, a charge that has angered US officials, who have described it as “perplexing”.
What’s that claim of “dramatic drop” in arms shipments?
In the following article I see a dramatic increase. In the budget at least.
U.S. Aid to Israel in Four Charts - Council on Foreign Relations
Since the start of Israel’s war with Hamas on October 7, 2023, the United States has enacted legislation providing at least $12.5 billion in military aid to Israel, which includes $3.8 billion from a bill in March 2024 (in line with the current MOU) and $8.7 billion from a supplemental appropriations act in April 2024.
Am I missing something or Israel bluntly lying again?
[Edit: Within the link above there is another link and the section with the title “What’s paused”. It looks like Biden paused 1 shipment to my understanding]
Right now it’s just some tough talk from both sides
How do you know that? The Zionist settler colonialist side has been doing Genocide for the past 8-9 months, this is not as you say
Just another day in the Middle East.
And like Hitler, Netanyahu is unable to stop. And unlike Hitler he is not fighting and loosing battles. When Hitler started loosing in the front, part of his entourage tried to talk him out of it, without success. This is why, there was even an attempt to kill him from inside the Nazi party.
Netanyahu on the other hand, is not loosing battles since he is just bombing and starving people, while being supported in all possible ways by the US and most of the west. Why should he stop now? The Zionist plan of eliminating or displacing all Palestinians is working fine so far.
Netanyahu is so pumped up he could easily invade Lebanon. Also Israel has attacked Lebanon twice and got defeated twice in a humiliating way. Last time was in 2006, meaning not that long ago. This is why Netanyahu has such a beef with Hezbollah. I’m afraid that Netanyahu has been given so much support and leverage from the West, he’s about to start an actual war with Lebanon.
They also know what collaborating with the Nazis is like.
I haven’t heard about this before, so I can’t argue about it at this point.
Then you say:
So I don’t think Armenia’s decision will have much of an effect.
How you managed to draw this conclusion from your previous statement, is a mystery to me.
And since you mentioned Nazi collaborations, I’ll say the following. I noticed that the sources you provided the one is Zionist and the other Polish, and both collaborated with Nazis for sure.
How Zionists collaborated with the Nazis, in conversation with Tony Greenstein | EI Podcast
we speak with activist and blogger Tony Greenstein, a veteran of the Palestine solidarity movement in the UK, about his new book “Zionism During the Holocaust: The Weaponization of Memory in the Service of State and Nation.”
Of course not. Read again what I wrote. If that’s still what you get from my reply, we got nothing to talk about.
Armenians know what genocide means.
So it looks that the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 147 of the 193 member states of the United Nations. Hope I’m counting correctly and didn’t leave out a country, cause it looks like the relevant wiki page [International recognition of the State of Palestine] has not yet been updated. Not even for Ireland’s recognition of Palestine and that happened last month. Soon I hope.
For me the question remains. What could make the remaining white colonialists and Zionist settler colonialists change their minds and finally recognize Palestine, so that a 2-state solution is implemented.
I don’t think that’s really the point. The point is that Israel is killing civilians including children, not soldiers.
