Shying away from TikTok isn’t a result of not understanding it; it’s a result of understanding how exploitative it is all too well.
I shy away from it because vertical photos and videos are a god damn sin and I will have no part of it. Not falling into that, or even possibly being spied on for using it is just a fringe benefit of thinking it was a dumb idea. Same with Twitter; the concept itself was the dumbest thing I had ever heard, so I never even used it once.
