Is it unreasonable to come out of this with a East/West Pakistan solution?
It’s deeply regrettable but decades of work by Isreal has really driven a wedge between Gaza and the West Bank.
This part is unrelated to Israel.
The tensions begun the moment Hamas came into power.
When Hamas took over Gaza in 2007, they threw Fatah officials off buildings and shot into crowds of their supporters.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatah–Hamas_conflictIt is related to Isreal as Netanyahu funded Hamas and fought against a unified Palestinian government.
The funding of Hamas by Qatar was after their takeover of Gaza.
Not that I want to defend Hamas, and since it was some kind of civil war it was definitely violent. But do you have any sources on Hamas throws people off buildings or is this another „Hamas beheads babies“ kind of thing?
It’s in the Wikipedia link.
But here you go: https://www.hrw.org/news/2007/06/12/gaza-armed-palestinian-groups-commit-grave-crimesOn Sunday, Hamas military forces captured 28-year-old Muhammad Swairki, a cook for President Mahmoud Abbas’s presidential guard, and executed him by throwing him to his death, with his hands and legs tied, from a 15-story apartment building in Gaza City.

Two men were killed in revenge slaying, including a Fatah gunman thrown from a roof, in what Hamas described as a family grievance.
I’m sorry I kind of overlooked that. Thanks for providing the link anyway!
I tried googling this further because Human Rights Watch also doesn’t say where they have this information from. But pretty much everything I can find is some IDF sources, a Times of Israel article and a medium blogpost.
That’s not to say that I wanted to call you a liar or try to find evidence that Hamas are indeed the good people, I just realized that I’ve been lied to so many times that it’s hard to believe anything like this that sounds like straight from an action movie. Anyway, eventually I guess it doesn’t really matter. And thanks again for providing the link!
