I did vote to get rid of it, but I’m not going to be upset if it stays because I don’t totally disagree with that view.

There’s a pinned post right now where you can vote to kill the bot. I ultimately blocked it because it was at best useless - the sources I didn’t recognize it didn’t either, and I saw it endorsing British tabloids which is outright harmful. Maybe I would have liked the Wikipedia addition, because the spoiler tag works on my Lemmy client, but people already do this in comments in a more relevant way on an article to article basis.

Google killed off their own cached pages last month and they’re now using IA as a replacement. Free linking is definitely important, but this is Google we’re talking about, and them using IA to save money - this feels a lot more exploitative if Google isn’t funding them in some way.

I used to lurk on the Pathologic subreddit, the overwhelming consensus there was people recommending they do exactly this and that Pathologic 2 already has enough content to be considered a complete game. I may peek in to see what they think now that it’s actually happened though.

Target recently changed their credit card reader screen - it’s been annoying about their rewards program for a while, but before it was “skip” to pass the screen, now the button is “not now”.
