There’s something so delicious about the fact that the party of supposedly tough, heterosexual-and-don’t-you-dare-say-otherwise manly-men is represented by a guy who’s covered in spray tan and spends literally hours arranging what little hair he has left, and another guy whose smoky eye game is on point.

And yes, cishet men can wear makeup too, but come on—makeup on anybody who owns a penis is decidedly off-brand for today’s Republican Party.

I mean, we mock Republicans for getting dolled up and then targetting women, drag queens, and trans folks for not sticking to rigid gender expectations because those Republicans are hypocrits. If they weren’t so terrible we wouldn’t say anything.

Well I mean, technically the eyeliner is permanent because he got it tattoo’d.

He’s a fan of a guy who wants a CEO President and thinks Black people are genetically predisposed to make particularly good slaves I can’t imagine why his grooming habits would be relevant

I get so jealous of guys sometimes because they do often have great eyelashes naturally, it does look like liner but they may just show up so well because of his coloring (dark hair light skin and eyes).

Doesn’t matter what he looks like. He’s just a terrible person on the inside.

I get a creeper vibe off of him, but I don’t think he did anything artificial to his eyelashes. Some guys just look like that. Derek Carr. Néstor Carbonell.

Don’t know about eyeliner or mascara particularly, but basically everyone who goes on camera for a living has make-up artists who work on them. Politicians, actors, other celebrities, newscasters, etc. So without even looking at Vance’s photo, I’d say it’s a safe bet that he has someone doing that.

Probably. I would expect any politician of any gender to be wearing makeup when they’re on television. TV makeup is very normal.

Lighter skinned men on tv mostly have makeup to counter the bright lights so they don’t appear pasty. They don’t generally go for strong eyeliner as part of that makeup.

Vance is a terrible person who opposes anything involving LGBTQ+ folks. His not following the strict gender roles he promotes is worthy of mocking.

Oh, I agree 100%. But he’s done so many other things that are a stronger case than TV makeup. Like how his wife is an educated, accomplished lawyer instead of a pregnant-and-barefoot tradwife.

        Fucking a couch “allegedly”.

The crazy cat lady comments were fuckin’ weird and unprofessional, especially for some at the national political level. That’s like Libertarian party stripping naked kind of weird.

His straight up awkward gooberiness is a stronger criticism than TV makeup.

        TV makeup is weak.

For most cis hetero men, some powder to reduce the shine of the bright lights in front of the camera is normal. Guyliner is not.
